Swan House

A nice cosy pub, prices for drinks are fair In comparison with others in the town. Landlord seemed friendly,but unfortunately, not at all bothered by loud, drunk , gobby ,ill mannered young kids shouting and swearing. They seemed to take over, to the point I couldn't actually hear my husband talking. I would not be happy to be staying at their accommodation, as I imagine it would be loud,unlike The Waverny House Hotel where we chose to stay. Shame,as it was a nice pub.

We have been her a few times before and as usual an excellent place, we only stopped by for drinks and lunch but as usual all very good, atmosphere as usual very good, service was excllent we will be back for sure and for lunch I can recommend the Calzone, perfect.

This was a great place to stay and the lady who showed us to our room was friendly. It’s a great location to explore Beccles and although there is no breakfast provided apart from a porridge pot and tea / coffee, that’s not an issue as there’s some great places to have breakfast close by. There was also a fridge in the room, which was really useful. The floorboards are very creaky!

Would definitely continue to look at other venues. Very unfriendly welcome. So much so I actually apologised twice for turning up! Also woken by a power drill downstairs at 08.30. We have never felt so unwanted! The only positive is its very central.

When we arrived the door to the hotel was locked and we heard people inside looking at us and talking very loudly. A man pointed and said “there’s two punters outside but they will go away soon”. It turns out the check in time is from 2-7pm and we had arrived at 9pm for which we apologised but the owner was very unhappy. We were scolded at the door and told we had missed phone calls from him asking when we were arriving. This was very disappointing as we are repeat customers and have stayed here before and been greeted in a friendly way. We returned because we like the hotel and area however this encounter was really rude and uncalled for.

lady behind bar greeted us with all the info, a little site and less officiousness would have been better. lovely room Jeremiah loads of space for us or a small family wet room comfy bed iron hair dryer ... everything and more v clean

Beautiful rooms but our room was not cleaned to a very good standard. The vanity table drawer kept opening and had lots of hair from previous occupant. Also rubbish inside drawer. Someone's contact lenses case left on shelf. Lots of light bulbs not working so very dark in bathroom area.

Immaculately clean and nice welcome on arrival. Fabulous attention to detail, jug of cold water in the fridge plus cold milk, excellent biscuits etc. and welcome porridge provided as they do not offer breakfast (tons of cafes within minutes do). We would stay here again but not in the Seth room. It’s pretty and full of characters but being in the eaves provides little space to stand up straight. We both bashed our heads despite all the signs and got annoyed at having to stoop continuously. Definitely a room for shorter guests. Still a great place as it seems to be managed exceptionally well.

Stayed for one night in Eln room very impressed with quality of furnishings and stylish finish, very friendly staff and easy check in / out, would highly recommend to anyone wanting a quality stay, only thing i would say would be to put some hair conditioner in the bathroom along with the shampoo as i had expected there to be some in a room with so much thought given to ensure customer satisfaction.
