I booked 3 rooms for ourselves and friends. What a complete disappointment. Reception was not a welcoming place, we had to telephone a mobile to announce our arrival (that isn't an issue) but worth mentioning as at least the place could have been better presented. In the middle of sorting our booking another guest butted in to say in a loud whisper there was no toilet roll... I had left a card number on booking as requested but my friends all wished to pay for their own rooms of course. This facility was not something they could deal with so I ended up paying for everyone's and reclaiming from them. We were all in the Grooms Quarters - Room 509 (our room) we did the best of a poor bunch, tired, stained carpets. Bathroom hmmm toilet simply didn't flush. Bed was fine and sheets nice and clean. We had to lend our kettle to our friend who was upstairs as he didn't have one but did have tea bags etc. His water to sink wouldn't run if the person in next room used the shower. Our other friends had no bath towels so our friend with no kettle lent them one of his. Check out was non existent as house was locked up so we simply left keys in rooms. Sorry but the place and management needs a 'good shakeup', very disappointing but we shall dine out with friends for ages telling of our experience.

Had a lovely night stay here with my family of 5. The hosts were lovely people and made us feel really welcome. The house is beautiful - it was a privilege to stay in a historical house with stunning grounds. We loved the tea room and play park for our children. Will definitely be back when visiting the area again! It was clean and the shower was fantastic. The bed was also very comfy and we had an amazing view of the countryside from our window.

Certainly doesn't look like the photos ! Our room was up a few flights if we'll worn concrete steps (this place is very old) the only good thing about the room was the bed, if that hadn't been as big, comfortale and clean as it was we would have left. The shower had a trickle of water from the joint, nothing coming out the shower head. We couldn't put anything in any drawers, they were all filthy. The only staff was a girl who had her phone number on the counter in case she couldn't hear the bell ring! We had booked bed and breakfast but on arrival was told the chef was on holiday, which was probably a good thing, we tried in vain to get a drink from the poorly stocked bar, but the only other couple in there said they had been waiting ages but had previously been told the only drinks the girl could serve was a bottle of beer from the fridge, she couldn't serve any wine or spirits. Father in laws room was slightly better but he had no tv to watch at the end of the night even though it says TV in all rooms, we had a tiny one in our room. Needless to say we checked out asap next morning feeling grateful we hadn't booked for longer

Moggerhanger Park B&B is set in a very quiet location with far reaching views. You can walk in the parkland and the gardens and there is also a tearoom within the grounds. The hotel is a listed building and so you will not necessarily find all the mod cons you would expect. It is like going back in time. The entrance and lounge areas still have that grand feeling of yesteryear. We stayed in the stable block and the stairs to the upstairs rooms are quite narrow so maybe not for the less able bodied. This area is in keeping with days gone by and has flag stone floors rather than being carpeted throughout. Breakfast was lovely and served in what I think were the old servants quarters. Our first morning the music piped into the dining room left us feeling as if we were waiting in Westminster Abbey for a big event. The staff were all very pleasant and our 3 nights here were certainly memorable. I would stay here again.

I love my stay at Moggerhanger Park and will definitely stay there again - It is an old historic building, a small stately home with ample history. It has a lot of grounds, beautiful trees, a woodland walk, a cafe, a museum of its history, and even a lovely walled garden! If you stay here, you are allowed to wander round the old house and really you get so much more for your money than a usual Bed and Breakfast. It also now has an in house restaurant which serves simple meals in the evening which I found useful. My room was quirky and flushing the loo took patience (Due to the historic nature of the house), but my room was lovely and I love all the old antique furniture both in my room and round the house. Breakfast was good and served in a lovely room. All in all - I think this is great value for money, and I will definitely stay here again. Staff are all very helpful and friendly as well. On 5th MAY, the hotel confirmed my reservation for Saturday 8th-9th OCTOBER. On 28th SEPTEMBER, they phoned to cancel the booking. They offered a half-rate stay in the future! I think not. I have emailed their confirmation of 5th May. I am speechless.

Our family of 5 stayed here for 4 nights. What an atmospheric place. The grand entrance hall, staircase and antique furniture are not what you expect for less than £100 per night for a family! The room we had was adequate but when the manager realised we had 3 children he upgraded us to the bridal suite which was fantastic and allowed us an extra adjoining room for our 2 older kids. Customer service and breakfasts were great as was the woodland trail and playground within the grounds. If you need to stay in the Bedford area definitely consider this place, similar pricing (if not cheaper) to a chain hotel brand but much more interesting and grand.

Moggerhanger is the classic country house. The welcome and setting make for a very enjoyable stay. Having stayed in many different hotels in over 70 countries some stand out. This is not your bland chain hotel - even top end chain. It is a little quirky but all the facilities you need are here. The grounds are delightful and make a splendid area to stroll around and relax. A little oasis in a crowded area.Bedford and Milton Keynes are close by. Some of the rooms are full of lovely old oak furniture and fiitinds- it is like staying in a country house. The staff are all exceptionally friendly and helpful. All in all a memorable stay in a quintessential country house and exceptional value for the cost.

We booked here overnight whilst visiting relatives in Bedford, after walking the grounds previously and loving the location and look of the house. When we got there there was no one on reception, we pressed the bell, waited, and eventually rang the number - but there was no one! We waited approx. 10 mins until the staff member happened to walk back to reception and appeared shocked to see us there. She checked us in and took us to our room, which we have to say was lovely. This is where the extra touches made the difference. There was bottled water by the bed, a chocolate on the pillow, hot chocolate, tea, coffee, de-caff varieties, soya milk and biscuits! The bathroom had little bottles of shampoo/cond. etc. Unfortunately being an old house, sound proof was non existent, which is to be expected, but it was that bad it sounded like the woman next door was in our room when she chose to have her very loud 11.30pm speaker phone call. The view of the countryside was severely lacking - as there was a parapet blocking the window. Obviously an original feature of the house which is great, but the room can't really be advertised as "with a view". Breakfast the next day was abysmal, such a let down. There was one woman on her own serving very large families and a few couples. We found the one clean table in the whole room and sat down. There was no bowls for the cereal, no pastries/bread out, milk was almost empty, and the coffee was barely warm. Eventually the lady came to take our order - basically egg on toast - to which she said she would try as they were running low on bread! When it eventually came we had toast, but apparently they'd run out of butter. Eventually she managed to re stock the bowls, but no pastries made an appearance. I can't blame her, it's extremely unfair of the place to make her serve all this by herself. It was an extremely disappointing end to our visit. Moggerhanger sent us an email to leave a review, and invited us to speak to them if we had any issues. I emailed them with the above issues, and they failed to respond. Had those little touches not been there it would have been an average score.
