Very disappointing to find out that the pub is not open on a Monday or Tuesday and is NOT mentioned in their description on here. The first I became aware of it was when I was contacted by the property on the day I was due to arrive meaning if you then decide to cancel you would still have to pay for the room. This meant I had to rethink my evening plans and drive out of my way in the morning to find a suitable breakfast. I also had to try and get hold of somebody on arrival as the lights in the room wouldn’t work.
On a side note if you are going to be shut for food for two days you might want to think about equipping the rooms (which was a lovely room to be fair) with a small fridge.

Nice little pub, lots of unexciting lager type beers beers, the ale on offer was good. food mostly OK, disappointing with the selection of deserts. Rooms very nice but for £120 a night NO breakfast option, just cereal bars and do it yourself porridgein the room, and a 10am check out is a farce.

We had the upstairs function room for no extra charge for my son’s 21st birthday dinner. Beautiful room. Fantastic food and service. There were 15 of us and it was perfect. We have been before for general meals downstairs and that’s perfect too.

Easy breakfast provided in with the price and everything well thought out to make your stay perfect. Emma is the perfect host and very kind and friendly and attentive to all your needs

We had a problem with the key card to enter our room . We had trouble locking the door at night and in the morning struggled for a long time to unlock it. Very unsatisfactory.

We stayed just the one night, but The George is a lovely pub and rooms. The rooms are a good size with excellent fittings. The bathroom was clean and very nice. So much better to stay here than Bedford when visiting the area.

Lovely room, nicely decorated. Rooms in converted outbuildings. We stayed Saturday night, noisy til just after midnight then again when chefs started early Sunday morning. Overall a nice stay but the room was very hot and couldn’t leave window open due to the noise. Cooked Breakfast wasn’t available during our stay which was disappointing but porridge pots were supplied in the room.
