The room was very large, of a quirky “distressed” design , comfortable four poster and two baths, plenty of hot water and warm. Some simple maintenance would be good- dead lightbulbs, broken window glass and slightly blocked sink for example. Breakfasts were very good as was breakfast service. Sunday evening meal was mediocre.

Our home away from home in Bedford fully up to expectations again. We love the people and the place here; it’s all wonderful. We had a great dinner and breakfast is worth every penny.

Lovely room and staff! Parking was a bit difficult but the room and breakfast made up for this. Room was clean and had everything you could need. Breakfast was lovely and lots of different choices.

Lovely reception for our fifteenth stay. This has really become our home as we have got to know the staff so well. Lowly rooms with comfortable bed and great shower and bath. Excellent food, both in the evening and at breakfast.

An interesting place. On the negative side the rooms are quirky (mine had no shower, only a bath in the middle of the room,) and the place generally is looking tired and in urgent need of refurbishment. On the plus side the food (both dinner and breakfast) was of a good quality, (the very large dining area was fully booked by the general public, which speaks volumes,) and the service in every area was excellent. Particular mention should be made of the Manager (not sure if he was filling in temporarily,) whose positive and cheerful disposition was ever present - at check-in and at all the meals. He is a real gem who is central to the good level of service from all his bar staff and waitresses - efficient, switched on, and attentive.

Went for a meal with friends. They accommodated my friend who has minor disabilities and even allowed us to make specific requests for the timings of our food. Food was great and had perfect portioning, well worth the money! Staff were very friendly and accommodating. They made sure the evening was perfect.
