Manxin Mansion Beijing Qianmen Courtyard

A truly satisfying stay! Upon arrival, the friendly gentleman with glasses at the front desk warmly welcomed us and offered snacks and tea. We booked this hotel specifically for our child to experience a Beijing courtyard house, and it certainly didn't disappoint. The room had a charming, antique feel with a strong courtyard vibe, and the courtyard itself was very peaceful. The air conditioning was perfectly cool, and the bedding and hygiene were excellent – no hair or stains whatsoever. When we checked out, Deng from the front desk thoughtfully gave our child a private explanation of the courtyard's history, which they had missed earlier, and even gave us a souvenir. Zhang also kindly helped us with our luggage right to the door.

I stayed at a Siheyuan (courtyard house) near Qianmen with my child and father, and it truly felt like quintessential Beijing! First off, the location is incredibly convenient. It's nestled in a hutong on Qianmen East Street, offering a quiet escape amidst the bustling city. A short walk around the corner takes you to Qianmen Pedestrian Street, and Dashilar is easily reachable on foot. Taking a taxi to Tiananmen or the Forbidden City costs just the minimum fare, which is a huge relief when traveling with elderly parents and children – no hassle at all. Secondly, the courtyard itself is absolutely charming. Stepping through the gate, you're greeted by a classic Old Beijing Siheyuan, with its grey bricks, dark tiles, and covered walkways, all centered around a large tree. In the morning, with the sun streaming into the courtyard, enjoying a bowl of congee feels incredibly leisurely. The room, though not large, is exquisitely designed, with comfortable bedding and a bathroom featuring a separate shower and toilet, complete with a smart toilet. Thirdly, the service was wonderfully attentive. The young lady at the front desk, seeing we had elderly parents and a child, proactively helped us with our luggage. Breakfast was abundant, and they even gave us a small gift when we checked out – excellent! Overall, if you want to experience an Old Beijing Siheyuan without compromising on comfort, this place is truly ideal. It's especially perfect for families traveling with parents and children, offering both charm and convenience.

Service: The hotel staff were incredibly helpful. Due to traffic control, I had issues with taxis and parking before check-in, and they went above and beyond to help me find solutions without any hint of impatience. The check-in service was also very thoughtful and welcoming. Environment: It's a renovated hutong, which you could describe as a modern Chinese-style villa. The interior is very contemporary and clean. I really liked the complimentary amenity kit. The hotel breakfast was plentiful, and the asparagus with shrimp and the pork ribs with corn were delicious.

Since the courtyard suite wasn't available for my last night, I had to book the Deluxe King Room. It's quite a bit smaller compared to the courtyard suite, but it was fine for just one night. This time I chose a room on the second floor and there was no noise. The service was still very warm and attentive, thumbs up! 👍

I was looking for a reasonably priced hotel among a bunch of courtyard hotels, and I was pleasantly surprised! The architecture largely maintains the original layout of a traditional quadrangle courtyard, yet the hotel facilities and services are absolutely flawless. Located right inside Qianmen Street, it offered an even better experience of old Beijing's traditional culture. I'm very satisfied.

The ambiance, charm, service, and even the other guests were all lovely. However, the hardware facilities felt a bit like a façade. The USB port by the bed was broken, and the power outlet was being used for the phone, so I had to unplug the phone every time I needed to charge something. Then, on the second day, the toilet actually broke! Who actually uses those heated toilet seats anyway? I think it would be better to just have a basic, good quality toilet. The breakfast was also very mediocre. The concept and elements are all great, but the less visible aspects should also be improved, otherwise, it leaves a rather mixed feeling.

My stay here was truly heartwarming! The room was spotless and fresh, without any strange smells, making for a very comfortable experience. The staff were attentive and thoughtful, and incredibly friendly and easygoing, making you feel as warm and at ease as if you were with family. The hotel itself has a charming, antique feel with a unique and tasteful decor. Plus, getting to all the attractions is super convenient, making travel hassle-free and easy. The whole experience was delightful, and I genuinely recommend it to everyone!

The environment is quite peaceful, and the hotel's location is convenient for visiting attractions. It would be great if the room windows had reflective film or something similar, as people walking by can see into the room if the curtains aren't drawn. The staff are very friendly and proactively offer help. They even put out umbrellas by the entrance before it rains. However, sometimes there are clothes, underwear, and socks drying in the central courtyard area, and I'm not sure if they belong to guests or staff.
