Hotel is located directly across from line 1 metro, its 2 stops to the new big mall and 3 stops to Universal studios. If you want to do the city stuff its an hour by the metro, so better suited for universal studios. Hotel itself is good and spacious, Hotel is ok value, especially for close proximity to universal studios. Area outside is average part of Beijing.

I've stayed here five or six times now, and every time I visit Universal Studios, I choose Yuan Tuo. The environment and service have consistently been great. Housekeeping is always prompt, and my kids absolutely love it here. They especially enjoy chatting with Xiao Tuo. However, breakfast isn't as good as it used to be. The selection is quite limited, and if you go late, there's only zhajiangmian (fried sauce noodles) left, no wontons. The yogurt is also gone. Getting to Universal Studios is super convenient by subway, only four stops, which I find easier than the shuttle since you don't have to wake up early to queue. Perhaps my first stay was shortly after they opened, as the room rates seem a bit higher now. There are plenty of dining options nearby, which is a plus. One minor issue is that the curtains don't block out much light.
