And unattractive entrance and lacklustre reception ‘greets’ new arrivals. The room we had was dated and not well maintained, with no air conditioning, a poor quality TV, no mini-bar, and many fittings looking the worst for wear. A somewhat uninspiring view over a muddy dam is the reward for a torturous ride over the last seven kilometres on something bearing little resemblance to a road. Our room had been meagrely serviced with bath mats and other items missing. If this hotel wants to attract guests they are going to have to up their game - there are better options in this beautiful part of the world.

We stayed here for a family wedding that took place at the Silver sixpence - a six minute drive down the road. We were very happy with our stay. The self-catering units are very well equipped - even have iron & ironing board, and all the necessary kitchen things. Beds were very comfortable. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The kids loved the put put, jungle gym and pool (even though it's not as green as on the pictures). We enjoyed a good selection at breakfast every morning, as well as drinks at the bar. Some features of the hotel could do with maintenance - e.g. pool, latches on windows in dining hall etc. Overall good value for money and a beautiful setting. We didn't get around to doing all the activities but saw the bicycles for hire, and some kids games at reception. Milly's restaurant is just around the corner if you feel like an outing

We had an amazing time here, we felt so at peace and all the staff members were friendly and accommodating. The rooms were clean, tidy, comfortable, spacious and relaxing. The nature and beauty of the area is what makes this place worth every penny. A must visit!

Grand hôtel which may have past its best in its overall look. But still a very pleasant stay with great staff. Rooms are very big with comfortable beds. but may need a coat of paint and change of carpet.

Kloppenheim is something else. The food was outstanding, the atmosphere, the friendliness of all the staff and the rooms w, all with a view to die for, makes it a gem of a destination I can absolutely recommend a visit to Kloppenheim.

The hotel has a quaint olde worlde feel about it and the communal areas are full of character. We stayed for 1 night in room 320. The room and bathroom were quite large and decorated in keeping with the rest of the hotel. The views from the balcony were spectacular and we woke up early to take photos of the beautiful sunrise. Dinner was excellent. Being vegetarian, I decided to speak to the chef in the afternoon to make sure he was aware of my dietary requirements. The quality of the food and service was 5 *. Thank you. It is possible to hire bicycles from the reception. We went for a walk instead and it was really memorable. I highly recommend walking if you stay here - maps are available from the front desk. The countryside is beautiful and barren and we were surrounded by wildebeest, antelope and zebra in the distance. I can highly recommend this hotel and would definitely return.

Our first time visiting the place and we enjoyed every moment. The staff was friendly, the food was delicious and the room was perfect and homely. We had a nice view from our room and enjoyed relaxing on the balcony. Lots of activities to indulge in, and we had memorable moments , I would recommend it to anyone to visit.

Our long weekend away at this property was absolutely amazing. The level of service was really fantastic, and I absolutely loved the old-style country feel of the property. I would highly recommend stay in one of their suites overlooking the small dam area. The food was also really good, especially the dinner at the Triple Twigs Restaurant, and the facilities in general were great with a lot of activities to choose from. The only suggestion that I have to improvement at the property is for better maintenance of some of the garden areas and the suites/facilities, but other than that, I would stay here again.
