Bells Estate Great Ocean Road Cottages

The estate must have been really lovely in the past. I love the building structure and the two alpacas . Unfortunately it is not well-maintained now. It is dusty in certain spots and the facilities are not exactly functional.

Beautiful location in the bush like a farm-stay. Great to see the animals but the big drawback was accommodation that is in a desperate need of a deep clean. Cobwebs everywhere in the cottage. Just surface cleaned. We had to wash several of the dishes before use. BBQ leaking gas once you open the bottle with knobs in off position not safe?? Water pressure not great as the pump need to kick in an then combined with a water saving shower head makes the shower a challenge. Towels and bedding has been used way to many times for a rental property. When you pay money to stay in a property you expect a lot better bedding and not old towels. Loved the fact that there was wood to light a fireplace the first night although we had to clean the fireplace first of old ash to start a new one. There was enough wood to make one fire during our stay. Outdoor the property lacks maintenance. Gardens and animals looks well cared for. There is an indoor pool onsite. Looks all clean and well maintained overlooking the lake. Lots of parking on the property. Out cottage was a short walk from the parking area past a workshop and printing business operating on the same site. The owners live in the main house and rent out several cottages on the property Remote control gate give you access while staying at the property Checkin and checkout was very straightforward as it is self checkin and checkout.

I liked having peace and quiet, and privacy. After a day of touring its great to come back to a beautiful natural and man made garden setting to unwind and relax in peace.

Excellent indoor pool and kids also loved the trampoline and cubby house. Nice quiet spot with bush surrounds. Kids also loved watching the alpacas and pony wandering around the house. Cottage inside has been tastefully renovated.

Loved the relaxed nature of the stay, we really relaxed and the children enjoyed the animals. We took a while to get used to living closely to neighbours but we all respected each other and it wasnt noisy - the frogs sang at night and alpacas wandered up to say Hello. All in all a wonderful short break
