Stayed here on a business trip, it was a welcome stop after 8 hrs driving. Friendly staff, clean rooms, great food, a good range of larger and some very tasty Scotch.

Though a four star hotel very bad heating system. The windows were not fully functional as we could not open them. The reception phone was never answered. Rooms were not cleaned and tea ration not replenished properly. The breakfast was not served properly as if we asked for omelette the staff wasn’t responding as they had exhausted their material. Though rooms are shown as airconditioned as per Kesari travels it wasn’t a case to be.

We went out for food and drinks and had good intentions of coming back to the bar and having a couple there before ending the night. We arrived back at the hotel at 9:30pm to be told the bar is closed due to an audit. Sorry what! Friday night and your bar is closed because of an audit. Very disappointing. If I knew this earlier when checking in I would have stayed out longer. Cleanliness in the shower in our room wasn’t the best, black mold in between tiles and missing/ loose tiles in the bathroom floor. During the night there was a tapping noise that happened every half hour that kept me up all night. Sorry but I doubt I will return to this hotel.

Hotel lovely and clean as were rooms, the staff were friendly and efficient couldn't do enough for you. Breakfast was great especially the sausages and bacon had a good variety of breakfast items to choose from. We had a nice relaxing time. Would recommend Alona to anyone.

Nice quiet hotel and clean. Not really a great welcome from reception on arrival too busy looking at computer. Bar and restaurant empty for a Friday night. Waitress really nice and pleasant in restaurant. Won’t be hurrying back

Hotel was ok, clean room and comfortable bed. Staff were really nice and friendly. The breakfast was absolutely woeful, fried eggs were swimming in grease and way overcooked as was the haggis. Everything just sat out in cast iron dishes, the scrambled egg was far from scrambled more just a solid rubbery mass. The square sausage was cheap and nasty, no potatoe scones? Whover chucked this together has absolutely no pride in their cooking and clearly couldnt care less about the paying guest. Will be checking in to Holiday Inn just along the road next time. VERY DISAPPOINTED

Stayed here on a 5pm deal for room b&b and evening meal. Had both a very comfortable night and enjoyable meal and breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff. Not really anything negative unless I get a little petty and say room carpet was a bit worn.

Fabulous stay, Winter Luxury Package well worth the money. Staff extremely attentive from check-in to check out. Dinner was delicious, and praise goes to all staff in the restaurant, especially Aiden, whose attention to our table was impeccable. We will certainly be back soon.
