We have just returned from Holiday Village Costa Del Sol and I was keen to share the positives and negatives of our trip. We travelled as 2 adults and 2 children (6yrs and 3yrs). We have stayed at the HV Ibiza, HV Majorca and HV Cyprus, so naturally we have drawn comparisons, but I try to be fair. Positives: - Hotel is a short bus journey from the airport (30-40mins). We flew through TUI and there was no other stops. - Hotel is grand and beautiful throughout. Yes, slightly tired in places, but given how much the place gets hammered by guests, they do very well with its upkeep. - A nice, quieter location, with fantastic views of the sea. - Our family sized room was clean, spacious and easily accessible. It's a very big hotel, but plenty of lifts to accommodate. We liked that we had a little kitchenette with microwave, fridge, kettle, etc, so we bought our own tea and coffee and bought milk from the shop. (Tea/Coffee not provided in the rooms, so either bring your own, like we did, or use the machines around the hotel) - Fantastic balcony space with views of the sea. - Room was cleaned every day to a great standard and plenty of fresh towels. - Check in was straight forward and we liked that our wrist bands opened our room. Tricky at times, but preferred that we didn't have to remember to carry a card everywhere. - Drink options were plentiful. All inclusive beer, cava and spirits very nice and self service areas for beer and soft drinks by the pool and snack bar. You get given one box of water in your room when you arrive, but there are plenty of water points available around the hotel, so you can refill bottles, or buy from the shop. - Main pool area spacious with plenty of sunbeds. Surprisingly busy for June, so I can imagine it being chaos during August/September, but you are able to use the other 2 hotels situated in the complex + the water park. - Hotel sunbeds are comfortable and glad they have put the parasols in the ground, so everyone gets a fair chance of some shade. - They fence off the pool from 7pm. So if you have toddlers, it gives you peace of mind that they won't fall into the pool at night. (This happened at another HV). This also fences off the majority of sunbeds, so people can't reserve them at stupid-o-clock. - There is a bus stop located across the road, outside the waterpark. It's fair priced, runs regularly and a 20-30 minute journey to Benalmadena. We used this one evening to eat at the marina and got a taxi back, which cost just under 15euros. - The HV entertainment team are super friendly, helpful and entertaining. My boys especially warmed to Will, who remembered their names and made them feel welcome at kids club- which was free for us (TUI) and no need to book in June. - Our boys thoroughly enjoyed the Chocolate Party and Widget Party too (chargeable). Negatives: - We both said that we didn't feel the hotel, on it's own, had enough about it to keep younger kids occupied all day. Other HV locations hav
