Clean hotel

The hotel needs to be closed immediately for some kind of cleaning or food hygiene assessment. Similar to many of the recent reviews, 3 of our group of 8 experienced severe vomiting and diarrhoea during our stay at Hotel Best Benalmadena. We ate at the buffet for breakfast and dinner for the first 2 nights and it was on the third day that we got so sick that we were unable to leave the bathroom. The hotel reception claimed there was a sickness bug in the area, but this cannot be the case otherwise all hotels in Benalmadena would have similar reviews. It is clearly limited to Hotel Best. For this reason, I urge you not to stay here until it’s sorted. If you can change your hotel, do it because the chances of you getting severely unwell is extremely high at this current time. A note to the hotel management: PLEASE take this seriously, you are making your guests ill.

Two years ago we also stayed in this hotel earlier and then we were satisfied. The quality of the food then was good. Now was a lot less, sometimes even tasteless. By the way, the restaurant staff was friendly and worked very hard. I also got food poisoning in the hotel from the buffet restaurant. I was in bed deathly ill for 2.5 days. After that I was without energy and tired for at least another 7 days. Another 4 people had also contracted food poisoning in the buffet restaurant. I reported it to the front desk, but they were rather light-hearted about it. Not really compassionate of sorry we are going to investigate etc. We are not going back to this hotel again.

D & V on second night/ third day !! spent 3rd day in bed so not too far from toilet!!! Smell from drains in bathroom were awful (sewerage smell) cleaners put plugs in sink & bath to obviously try to hide the smell & left our patio doors open!! No toilet brush so you couldn’t even clean the toilet your self!! Floors not mopped once the week of our stay, even forgot to put clean towels in room so had to chase that up with reception took them an hour ! I had one evening meal the first night never to go back & eat again as I started with V & D second night there food not kept hot & noticed some plates felt not cleaned properly ( no wonder quite a few of the guests were poorly !!) I Couldn’t eat much the rest of the holiday , just stuck to eating the fresh bread the 4 mornings I force myself to go in!! My husband has now got D & V on our last day! he has crones disease,! we did see a ambulance taking a guest to hospital from our hotel this morning to get fluids into her!! This hotel management really needs to look into how they are causing so many guests with unhygienic conditions & symptoms causing guests to have the same issues & complaints There were even used dirty glasses left on the entrance table to the dining area one morning from the night before next to hand sanitizer!!! What a joke !! Not always manned to tick who was coming in , obviously this is poor for a 4 star hotel, I’ve been in better 2 stars Not enough staff to check hygiene in dining area & pool area

Just arrived home what an awful experience.Wife started D & V after second day and had the bug for 5 days , I started on the 6 day probably because I take medication for Chron's disease. Now I will be of work for god knows how long. Room looked clean but when you wiped surfaces it was filthy brown Also the glasses and plates in the restaurant, only ate a couple of times so half board was a waste of money. Reception could not give a toss. Aviod at all costs !!

Unfortunately we did not have a great time, we were a party of 8 and half of us spent at least 24 hours or more in bed witch sickness and diarrhoea, the food was not of a great quality and one morning the oranges had mould on them. The rooms were ok, no mirror above the dressing table and no sockets either side of the bed, pool area was nice but pool rather cold.

The room was very comfortable and we had a very large balcony which gave a lovely view of Benalmadena and the sea.However the bath could do with a non slip bath mat as both my wife and i slipped whilst taking a shower but on the whole the room was great,kept very clean by the maids who were very friendly and cheerful.We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the hotel in up Great
