We are not usually B&B people, but this one caught our eye. Really really nice experience! Though it was early in the season, the grounds were in great shape. The restaurant and bar were cozy and satisfying. We had a room with a real wood burning fireplace and enjoyed it the 2 nights we were there. Kate and her husband have a real jewel here. Highly recommend!

This is a review of the Four Chimneys Restaurant. Marc the host is friendly and welcoming. The menu offers a lot of variety, and includes vegetarian options. The appetizers, salads and dessert were carefully made and well presented. We both had papardelle with a vegetarian mushroom bolognese which was superb. I immediately began experimenting to see if I could make it at home, I’m not so sure I will succeed! The molten chocolate cake and tart tatin were also very well crafted and delicious. I particularly appreciated the wine list where we got a nice grand cru St. Emilion which was a good value for the money. Highly recommended and a treat for Old Bennington. BTW the inn is lovely.

Dinner was outstanding! Cannot believe we have never ventured over here for dinner from Wilmington! Food quality was remarkable! Perfect poached pear salad with dandelion and endive. Crisp bacon-wrapped moist and tender Chicken with stunning garnish of carmelized onion and Gruyère bechemel. Only ask would be more of the outstanding bread to go with the fantastic maple butter, raspberry puree and olive oil toppings. A fantastic complimentary chefs surprise of smoked salmon topped with cucumber with chive cream cheese and an intermezzo of lemon sorbet with a champagne drizzle. Wonderful service! A real surprise in a beautiful historic building!

Stayed in Rm 1! Fabulous! Great gas fireplace, very comfortable bed, comfortable seating and a great Jacuzzi with tea lights and a chandelier. We had 2 nights of good sleep and light filled room in the day. The linens in the bed were wonderfully soft. The owner Kate was so hospitable, accommodating and went above and beyond to make our stay wonderful. An added bonus was having 2 nights in their restaurant with great food, scallops, duck and filet mignon!! And the server, Carlos, was GREAT! So glad we went.

We had an excellent dinner there tonight ! Delicious menu, run now by a great European couple!!! And they carry great local whisky from Bennington’s Village Distillery. I grew up in Bennington. I’m so happy the Four Chimneys is still going strong!!!

Beautiful inn and restaurant. Owners and staff are extremely hospitable. They provide thoughtful amenities and create a warm, peaceful atmosphere for guests. We enjoyed meeting others at dinner and the piano bar/lounge; everyone shared our enthusiasm.

This is a beautiful quiet classic Vermont Inn. The food was great and the room was beautiful. Located in a lovely small Southern Vermont town. We enjoyed hiking nearby. Highly recommend.

Quaint and beautiful property. The staff and services were very good but not seen much.
Our first breakfast wasn’t as expected the potatoes were overcooked and the apple juice canned. The remaining breakfast’ were very good and perfect portions. Sorry we couldn’t have dinner there as planned but we‘ll just have to return next year!! 🤗😃
