The hotel has been nicely renovated (April 2024). The beds and pillows are good, the room is spacious and the bathroom is also neatly clean and maintained. The rooms are cool, I would definitely recommend this hotel! The location of the hotel is also relaxing, in the middle of nature but still close to the city. You can rent bicycles, with which you can cycle to Nijmegen. We received a welcome drink of our choice upon arrival, because the hotel was still being renovated. We experienced no inconvenience during the renovation.

This hotel is definitely not worthy of a 4-star rating: 1. We made a reservation for one room, including our dog. We got a written confirmation that our dog was welcome. Upon arrival however, the receptionist, an older man that hardly speaks English, told us in a rude way the dog was not allowed. When we showed him the written confirmation, he simply stated that there was a policy change after our reservation and that we were called about this one day before our arrival. We politely asked to speak to the manager, who could not be found, after which another employee had to fix the situation. The receptionist hardly gave us a look, acted as if we tried to smuggle our dog in, seemed to be bothered by non-dutch speaking people showing up at this desk (how dare those foreigners come to a hotel!) and never apologized for the miscommunication about the dog policy. 2. We sent an e-mail to bring the rude behavior and the shabby policy change communication to the attention of the management. They’re response was completely off-topic, not addressing messing up with the policy change, or the rude receptionist, but instead focusing on a minor detail in our e-mail. 3. Something we would normally not complain about, but also not four-star worthy; this hotel also serves mediocre breakfast. Dry baked eggs, watery juice, etc…

Old building, unfortunately with dirty flood coverings, especially in the corridors. Very sorry. The finish of the walls in the rooms is insufficient, especially the edges of skirting boards and wall/ceiling. The bed sags. We sat on the inside, unfortunately no view.

Stayed here for one night with a large group visiting Nijmegen. The room was large and comfortable, though it could use some modernization. There was a small balcony offering a very nice view of the outside. I left the window open with the curtains closed overnight to get some colder air in, but wasn't disturbed by either insects or traffic noise. It seems the hotel is in a very calm area. Parking outside was free. The bar and restaurant staff were very pleasant and fast. Our only negative experience was when checking in: this took forever, even though we had booked in advance. I wish the reception staff had been better prepared to receive such a large group, having the keys ready at our arrival.

It is not a four star hotel. Few amenities in the rooms, if any. No fridge, no mini-bar, no coffee making facility in the room; no comfortable seating in the room. Some staff were great, others were miserable. The internet was okay, TV okay, food was pretty good. They advertise laundry services but they should advertise, "Laundry available hit and miss". With me it was "miss". I was promised that if I brought my laundry on a Friday it would be ready by Monday. However,I was told, on Friday, that 'she' wasn't driving today!! Okay, you do not have facilities on site. THEREFORE YOU DO NOT HAVE LAUNDRY SERVICE!! The area surrounding the hotel is beautiful. It is, however, out of the way; if you want to go to Nijmegen proper, be ready to pay top dollar for taxis or learn to walk a kilometre and navigate the buses. The buses in Holland are good and plentiful. They should call it a two star hotel because people would have low expectations and would be pleasantly surprised. But by calling it a four-star, they raise expectations too high and, consequently, breed disappointment in their guests. Not at all bad, but not a 4 star.

A lot of deferred maintenance and the furniture in the room was bare and worn.

Nice location, very nice waiter in the restaurant. Furthermore, mainly negatives. Few towels in the room. Extra towels are not immediately available at reception. No explanation at check-in. Pool costs extra, the bar wasn't even open. The pool water was very cold.

Large rooms, furniture probably from the 1960s, good beds, we didn't have breakfast. OK for 2 nights. As already mentioned, very shabby. Great surroundings and wonderful for cycling.

Great hotel, could use some renovation, large room, clean, good bed, nice pillows. Bathroom clean and tidy. Breakfast sufficient, good coffee, fresh rolls. Staff very friendly and helpful. The associated restaurant sometimes went wrong, but the food was perfect, friendly staff and good service. Price/quality hotel is excellent. Price/quality restaurant, not cheap but comparable to restaurants in the area. Quality of the food is very good.
