It's not a hotel but a large-size Airbnb. There is no reception. You must pay the city tax before your arrival through a separate link sent by email. After you pay exactly at check in time (3pm) you receive a set of codes that need to typed into small number pads attached to each door you pass through. The room itself was modern and spacious but without air-condition (hint: don't book in summer!!!). The building feels anonymous like a dormitory. On departure day someone rang my doorbell at 9am. There is no perk hole in the door, so I could not see who is outside. I opened and a persons asked "check out what time'. He did not say 'hello' and he did not say 'housekeeping'... I was confused. It was a bit scary. It seems it was the cleaner asking what time I do check out but why does he ask and bother me at 9am when the check out time is 11am?

Everything was great, a little spot in the shower but not anything serious! Otherwise perfect for everyone who is looking for something really nice in Berlin mitte.

We had a great stay. The Ipartment was beautiful, clean, and comfortable. Good value for price. The self-check-in provides flexibility. The location is good with good access to public transport, a Döner Imbiss nearby, and an excellent hipster cafe for good breakfast across the street.

I I had an unforgettable hotel experience. When I arrived, I tried to push the door open, but it was locked. There was no doorbell. Just as I was fretting over what to do, three groups of guests who had booked the same hotel tried to enter, but none of them could get in. Then one of the guests noticed a digital keypad and typed in the code from her email, but none of them could get in. Each of our groups tried their codes, but none of them could get in. As we were still fretting, the door suddenly opened, and a guest came out, allowing us all to enter. That guest explained that the hotel had emailed us a ten-digit start code and a four-digit comfort code. You had to enter the start code first, then the comfort code, to open the door. The other guests had both the start code and the comfort code, but my email only contained the comfort code. The kind guest checked my email and confirmed that it contained only the comfort code. He then called the hotel, and they said our reservation had been cancelled because we hadn't paid the city tax. However, I clearly saw on the check-in voucher that the €29.90 check-in fee was payable upon arrival. The staff member on the phone later said they would email us the payment and, after payment, gave us a new start code and comfort code. After payment, we finally got a room. However, upon checking in, I discovered it wasn't the Standard Studio with Balcony we'd booked, but a Standard Studio. I didn't want to call them again to complain about the mistake; I just wanted a comfortable room. The hotel's location is convenient, about a 5-minute walk from S train station, and the room was generally acceptable.
