Martas Hotel Berlin-Mitte

Positives: Location (convenient for transport, local cafes and restaurants, livley, sense of safety); presence of and pleasant staff, pretty courtyard, spacious bedroom, soft comfortable mattress and lovely soft pillows; clean; ample shelving*; warm (controllable heat); spacious feel. Negatives: Noise from room above on hardwood flooring; *not enough hanging space for 2; tiny cramped bathroom and shower; cleaning staff overley keen to enter on check-out day; no response to our request for loo roll, coffee, & room cleaning; the coffee machine makes lukewarm coffee; insufficient luggage storage post-check-out for everyone who might need it (payment is needed for the first-come-first-served lockers). Summary: A well-presented and staffed hotel with the amenities you would expect. Ideally located for access to Berlin's attractions, local cafes and restaurants.

A quiet haven on a quiet street, with a courtyard and safe feeling. A room available with free coffee to eat your breakfast bought from nearby bakery if you wanted fancy, or supermarket. Meant that we could eat and get going. We hired bikes - Berlin is very spread out but very safe with cycle tracks and slow traffic. Not a big shopping or restaurant area but enough.

This is a very convenient location, close to both the Main Station and the Museum Island. The room is reasonably large and clean. Many restaurants and also a big supermarket within an easy walking distance. If they offered breakfast, it would be perfect. This is my only regret. But they offer free coffee and tea, and their court was quite a nice space. The staff were also helpful. If there is a chance, I would like to stay there again.

This was a fantastic hotel and here is why: 1. The price - great value for money. 2. The location - super convenient for the subway and a lovely neighbourhood. Everything is very accessible from here. 3. the rooms - clean, comfortable and large. 4. Sleep quality - the area is very quiet so you sleep well and the beds are super comfy. 5. Free Coffee! Would definitely stay again.

Super nice and clean room. Friendly front desk staff, a coffee machine in the lobby and nice vibe overall. It was easy to grab public transit from the hotel. I got 3 good nights of sleep and enjoyed my stay.

Very fr8welcome, staff were very helpful and happy, rooms are large, very clean, comfortable beds, tv and kettle with teas and coffees in room. Nice courtyard and lounge area with gree coffee machine, fantastic hotel goe a very reasonable price in a perfect location.

Brilliant hotel all in all. I gave this a 5 star because this is exactly what we wanted for our city break in hotel. Rooms were clean, tidy and spacious. Staff were very helpful with whatever we needed and the free coffee machine was a brilliant touch. The area in which the hotel was located was so lovely with plenty of bars and restaurants. There was also a train station 5 minute walk from the hotel which you could get to any of the many attractions from which was so handy. I would recommend this hotel.

Very clean and quiet, lovely large shared courtyard. No aircon but a fan.

There is no air conditioning in the hotel, so my initial room was oppressively hot because the blinds had been left open and the room was just heating up all day. The front desk kindly moved my room to a cooler one that was still quite hot. If you have a health condition that makes you sensitive to the heat, I would not stay here in a heat wave. The bathroom smelled very strongly of damp. Despite all these complaints this is a very nice hotel for the price.
