This hotel achieves the rare feat of combining modern functionality with "Gemütlichkeit" in lots of little touches - quality breakfast spread incl. fresh topnotch bakery items, cute breakfast tableware, lovely vintage bench in the foyer waiting area with a side table offering a jug of water created like a work of art with fruit and herbs... I had a spacious 3rd floor corner room with a little balcony, shame a bit cold to sit out in February (unsurprisingly). Room spotlessly clean, bed super-comfy and good twin configuration had there been 2 friends sharing, for example. High end bathroom fittings, good clothese storage, comfy sofa, and that thing that British hotels just don't get: coat hooks!! Mini-bar had good essentials; no hot drinks available in the room but I always think that's an over-rated facility anyway, and they cleverly provide great quality self-service free coffee, tea etc in the dining room all afternoon and early evening anyway. The tiny lift accessed via a very cold hallway is not very welcoming, but otherwise reception was friendly and efficient. Location is away from the madding crowds but only a 3-minute walk from major bus routes and U-Bahn to get you straight into the public transport network. Thoroughly recommend.
