Hotel ZOE by AMANO

The roof garden was not open 2 out of 3 days. Breakfast is additional but it didn’t look nice. The rooms are really dark. Light isn’t good - can’t do your make up. Both hair driers cut out in under 1 minute. Towels had stains on them.

We booked two rooms at the hotel. One of the rooms was supposed to be a 1 BR. When we checked in we were give two small rooms and was told breakfast was included in the room rate (which we hadn't expected, and did not want to pay for). When we saw our small room we went back to the front desk with the information showing we had booked a 1 BR. We were told they didn't have any 1 BRs left. Instead they "gave" us breakfast for the four people in our party, but did not reduce the price of the room we received. So we paid the 1 BR rate for a small room. I would not recommend this hotel. In addition to their shady reservations and room charges, the rooms are extremely dark. Even with every light on they are very dark. It was hard to find things. They have very few outlets (strange for a newish hotel). The breakfast is not very good. There is a good variety of food, but nothing tasted great. We hadn't planned on eating there for four mornings, and were disappointed we didn't have the kitchen we paid for. This seems like a frequent complaint from people staying at the hotel. I do not recommend booking a stay at the Hotel Zoe.

Rooms very dingy, very poor lighting, couldn't find anything. Stange balcony onto a roofed in courtyard. Bar was closed on the Sunday.

The location of this hotel couldn't be much better for a tourist. It is 3 blocks from the S-bonn (i.e., public transportation), and the train from the airport goes directly to that stop. (When asked, the hotel staff emailed me this info.) 4 different train lines come to this stop and at least 3 different tram lines come within 2 blocks - so you can easily get everyplace.. There are lots of cafes nearby for breakfast and lunch. There is a street market once or twice a week with good breakfast/lunch food. You are right in the middle of an historic area, and a quick walk from Museum Island. The hotel is clean and comfortable (though there is no room for comfy chairs). We heard no street sounds in our 3rd floor room. The only complaint is that the tubs have high walls, there are no grab bars, the the floor of the tub is slippery. (They do have wheelchair accessible rooms & showers.)
