Garner Hotel BERLIN - GENDARMENMARKT by IHG

The hotel room was a bit small, but the location was excellent, with many attractions, parks, and dining/shopping options nearby. The breakfast was also a highlight; the restaurant's second floor had a cozy and unique decor.

The hotel's location is excellent, right next to a metro station in the city center and very close to Checkpoint Charlie. However, the breakfast selection is quite limited with not much to choose from. On the upside, the price is not high, so it offers decent value for money.

The room wasn't huge, but it was really clean and tidy. The guy at the front desk was super friendly and patiently answered all our questions. Since our English wasn't great, they even wrote things down for us to explain step-by-step. It was a lovely touch to find herbal tea and biscuits when we entered. The hotel's location is also excellent, with bus and subway stops right outside. The Berlin Cathedral and Brandenburg Gate are both within walking distance. The breakfast was pretty standard, just like most hotel breakfasts. Plus, having an on-site parking lot was really convenient for our self-drive trip.

I booked the wrong dates and they wouldn't let me cancel. Both the platform and the hotel are to blame. I booked it right in front of the hotel, realized I made a mistake, and immediately told the front desk, but they said they couldn't cancel. The platform didn't get involved either, and even after repeatedly contacting customer service, there was no resolution. I just wasted over 2000 yuan for nothing.
