Sorat Hotel Berlin

The price was good, and the TV was big and new, with English channels available. It's located near a shopping district with lots of stores and restaurants. It's also close to the subway and bus stops, though it's about 3-4 bus stops from the train station and a bit far from the city center. We walked back from the Brandenburg Gate through the woods, and it took us 45 minutes, not the 30 minutes mentioned in some reviews! The free croissant and coffee were delicious, and the front desk staff spoke excellent English. There were many international guests, and the area felt safe with no homeless people around. The only downside was a bit of trash in the neighborhood that wasn't cleaned regularly. The room was a bit small and dusty, but it didn't bother us too much, and some of the facilities were a bit old. Also, my friend and I had requested two single beds, but we only got one. The pillows were also too soft.

The room was very clean, and the front desk and room service staff were warm and friendly. However, there was some noise from the building next door that was under renovation. The hotel didn't have air conditioning, only a small desk fan, which made it very hot, especially with the extreme weather in Berlin.
