Arrived at 7.15pm on Tuesday 14th May to be advised that all water was being switched off at 9pm and the last food orders were 7.15pm We explained we had a colleague arriving at approximately 8:15pm as he was on route from Edinburgh Airport - It was suggested we ordered for him but we were not convinced his food would be pleasant if they were rushing to get all food out by 8pm. We advised him to stop and eat on route. We asked why we were not notified of this water issue in advance as we had several emails prior to arriving asking us to check in before we arrived. No answer or explanation given. Food arrived fairly quickly - One chicken dish and one steak ordered medium. The chicken dish resembled a child's portion except for the sea of sauce that the mash and chicken were floating in. As for the steak, that was grey in colour and looked like it had been deep fried with the chips. No check back on food - so nobody that interested in reality. In the end water was not switched off - so false alarm caused by water supplier, however no suggestion from hotel of any small discount to room rate, etc. In the morning, breakfast is a strange affair - lets leave it at that !! Whilst checking out one member of staff appeared to feel the same as us and just wanted to get on the road - as she stormed out the kitchen, she advised the receptionist that "she could not work with them"
