We Have stayed here for many years on and off we always rated it highly and told freinds great place to stay, but now, breakfast time the bacon was so thin it was dried out like a piece of board the potatoes bits had been cooked to a dark brown colour or reheated from day before, best thing really was the toast. the room as always was spotless, but their was no heat, there was a radiator which was covered by the curtains when closed and now because they have another layer of glass over the windows to try and keep road noise down whcih doesnt work you are unable to lift the curtains over the heater, which allowed heat into the room, i asked at reception if they could do something they said they would send a heater up it did not happen, there was a singing noise in the bathroom asked them to sort that out, nothing done, there was a loose socket on the wall in the bathroom that wasnt sorted, whenever we had a issue before was sorted there and then i think it was only once over the last 20 years, food at night well we ate in the stables first night you couldnt eat the chips they wasnt even chips as such un-edible, the rest was lovely but i had to pay for the chips, next night in the oak to eat veg supposed to be aldentay it was as though it was dropped in boiled water and taken out straight away so only ended up have a 4 inch round bow of shepherds pie. they charge so much to stay and better off in local b and b's on arrival we where given vouchers off items in local shop and rip wire i bought a item from the shop but forgot the voucher it stated the shop belonged to the hotel, so next day when back and we was refused even though the lady said we can sort that out we buy your item back them sell it again with the voucher but when she went to see the owner he said no
