Best Western the Lairgate Hotel

This hotel is in the perfect location in the centre of Beverley. The decor is a bit dated but perfectly adequate for the price we paid. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay there again.

Never again. The whole bed was crawling with bed bugs, I spent the night sat up in a chair. Terrible place, I would never stay here again, not even if I was begged to.

My wife and I stayed at The Lairgate on 17th April 2024. We were given room 15 which is at the top of 3 flights of stairs. I should have asked when booking if they had easy access rooms which I now know there is. The reception staff here are lovely, Amy, Laura George and Kev were really nice and very helpful. I get the impression that nothing would be too much trouble for them. There was free parking at the rear and I'd suggest that if you timed your arrival around noon you will find a space. The WiFi is very good, plenty of tea and coffee in the room. As I said this is a quirky hotel with loads of character, the exact opposite of a Travelodge or Premier Inn. If you were to carry out a 4 in a bed style room inspection you'll find faults but nothing that should spoil your stay. It's situated in the Town Cente close to the Green Dragon pub and a two minute walk to a nearby Wetherspoons called The Cross Keys which was very nice. There is a bar and restaurant in the hotel but we didn't use them. We paid £68 for our double, the bed was comfy, the room was warm and although it overlooked the street it was very quiet. The hotel is ideally situated for exploring Beverly. We will return

Only stayed one night but provider everything we required

The hotel was close to a massive Medium and Long Stay Car Park but also has it's own car park if you get there quickly enough. There is also an alleyway over the road which cuts straight through to the main paved shopping street where the range of shops , restaurants and cafes are excellent. The interesting Minster is about 10 minutes walk away. The hotel does a very good cooked breakfast to order for less than £10. The room was cosy but very hot. The bed was comfortable but the pillows weren't. Bath and shower were good too. Staff were helpful and friendly. Overall a wortwhile stay.

Slightly dated inside and out but to be fair was very comfortable, excellent location for bars and restaurants.

The hotel is tiered needs a refit and refurb

Shame no mention that they dont do evening meals, and very very tight carpark, however lovely old hotel and nice period furniture

If you appreciate the quirky, architecture, different furniture pieces and great service this is a lovely place to stay. Originally we were told a family home and adjoining registry office. Beautiful features throughout. Comfortable, clean standard double (large) room with bathroom Tea & Coffee tray etc. Large Wardrobe, Iron and Board plus hairdryer. Free Parking (not guaranteed). Don't miss out on breakfast as this is hearty of good quality and served hot on warmed plates too with plenty of Tea or Coffee and toast offered, a cold selection of fruit cereals & pastries The icing on the cake was the lovely staff we met on our stay who all went above and beyond making you feel welcome at Reception in the Bar and restaurant too. Very centrally placed and a thoroughly enjoyable first visit.
