Beverly Wilshire, A Four Seasons Hotel

We stayed at the Beverly Hilton in April this year for 5 nights in a BW studio suite. The hotel has a very high standard with great, warm service and beautiful facilities. The location at the start of rodeo drive is excellent with so many shops and restaurants in walking distance. Restaurants served high quality food paired with excellent service. Would recommend a stay here.

At check-in, I was offered an “upgrade” to a balcony king bedroom with a sofa bed instead of the original two queen beds. I travelled enough to know that hotels often oversold rooms with double beds, and since my 8-year-old didn’t mind using a sofa bed, I accepted the alternative. Little did I know this was the worst decision I made in the entire LA trip. I walked into a room with a loveseat and immediately received a call to inform me that the setup of the sofa bed would happen after I left the room. To my surprise upon return in 4.5 hours, the room looked the same. I called the Front Desk but was put on hold for 5 minutes until the line was cut. I had to call Housekeeping who came with the sofa bed sheets but told me there was no sofa bed in my room. Housekeeping offered a rollaway bed for the night. When the setup was done, it was past 11pm when my daughter was desperate for sleep. The rollaway and the loveseat completely blocked off the balcony, where I was hoping for an in-room breakfast the next morning. Housekeeping offered to inform Front Desk for me, as it was late at night, and I needed the quiet time. To my surprise, no one reached out or responded to my email complaint the next full day. When I return from the day trip at night, the room looked the same, except that this time the King bed, the rollaway and the loveseat were lined up perfectly in parallel to leave no room for walking among them. Called Front Desk to explain the whole experience from the beginning. The response given was "what do you want?" I was startled by the question for a few seconds. She further asked if I wanted a different room. Once I agreed, I was transferred to a different lady who had no idea why I was calling in. After a couple confusing minutes, I was finally booked for a larger room with a sofa bed. My first time seeing the promised sofa bed in this hotel was 11 hours before I checked out. At check-out, I was greeted with the standard question of "how was your stay?" The lady paid no attention to my complaint as she was busy typing up the invoice and responded in the end with "sorry to hear about the experience, hope you would stay with us again." Clearly, mistake was made when I was given the first room and the serial of negligence and ignorance happened after was astonishing. In the room, I found a stained kid robe, a malfunctioning weight scale with low battery and an elastic of which the color came off and stained the shower cap. These are not the standards I expect of a Four Seasons, or any other hotels I stayed before. It left a bad taste in the mouth for this LA trip.

Bed and pillows most comfortable. From staff to room service everything was fantastic. The concierge of course was accommodating with anything you may need. Walk right to Rodeo Drive to all the fab shopping . You must dine at …. CUT Wolfgang Puck’s was delish and service impeccable.

Amazing hotel with old world charm in modern surroundings..

We were greeted by Alex who checked us in. I have to start by saying he is the nicest, most helpful and accommodating employee I have ever come in contact with. He has a way about him that is so welcoming and he completely takes care of everything you could need. I travel a lot so I have a lot of experience with hotel workers. He stands out way above the crowd. The hotel is beautiful. Guest rooms are renovated and really nice. They are spacious as well. I do have 2 ‘ complaints’. The closet is so so tiny. If I had to share it with someone there would be no way both of our clothes would fit. Also, drawer space.. there are 2 drawers in the entire room. I had to keep 90% of my folded clothing in my suitcase. I just don’t get it. When someone designs a hotel room isn’t closet and drawer space a priority? Next complaint is the shower. It is so so small. Like ridiculously small. Other than that everything was great. The service is immaculate … from the valet guys, the housekeeping , the room service delivery guys. Everyone. We ordered room service quite a bit. Every morning for coffee then breakfast a couple of hours later. Lunch a couple of times and every night I ordered a pot of boiling water and a glass of skim milk. I bring my own tea bags bc I’m very picky about my tea. The first night they said ‘ no charge it’s just water and milk’ I was quite surprised. I said thank you, tipped him $ 10 and that was that. The next night I placed the same order and the bill was $18. I was shocked!! Not bc they charged me but that they charged me $18 for a glass of skim milk. I know everything at these hotels is expensive.. I get it and I’m ok with it. I don’t question anything .. I just accept it and enjoy my vacation. But $18 for skim milk? I found that actually mean. I was quite disappointed. So that’s my review. Like I said, I travel a lot and always stay at 5 star resorts. This hotel is beautiful and the service is exceptional.
