La Longère des Gillettes

Myself, husband and our 2 children, 6 and 8 stayed with Sylvie on our way down to the Ardeche in August. It was just a quick 1 night stop. We got there late evening and were shown to our room, which was up a flight of outdoor steps around the back. Our room was cozy, but perfect for what we needed. The shower was very powerful! We had breakfast with Sylvie the next morning in her dining area which was lovely. She was very friendly and engaged well with the children. She also has 6 cats roaming the area which were a hit with our girls! The garden was huge and had a swimming pool but it was too late for us to use it, although Sylvie did offer to open it up for us. We would recommend this for a stop over!

Very welcoming and pleasant host. The other half enjoyed the Pool and Breakfast. Location and accommodation was not for me. To access the room allocated one had to negotiate a path through a very overgrown garden having to "duck" vegetation on route. The room allocated was up a steep flight of outdoor stairs. When a ground floor room was requested we were advised there wasn't anything available although it appeared we were the only guests! As the window to the front of the property did not have "black out" blinds or curtains I found sleep impossible as soon as dawn broke as light was streaming through the window. There was also a lot of passing traffic noise. The nearest village had nothing to offer as most of the premises etc were closed so going out to dinner was not an option. Perhaps as it was a Bank Holiday we were just unlucky!.
