Peacock Guest House

We got two interconnected rooms that worked perfectly as a family suite. The rooms were so beautiful it was hard to leave. We felt like we were in a temple or museum, with plenty of beds and sitting nooks. Far away from traffic, but close enough to be able to observe it all from our window. The entire guesthouse is gorgeous, everyone was friendly, and the momos we had at the cafe were among the best momos we had in Nepal. Perfect location, a short walk from most of the squares. The only part of the rooms that could use an upgrade (or a shower stall) is the bathrooms.

Peacock hotel is a lovely place to stay while exploring the wonders of Bhaktapur. The old heritage building has a lot of charm, the interiors are thoughtfully and beautifully designed, the rooms are very neat and tidy, and the food is great (had a delicious chicken randang curry for lunch and omelette/fruit/toast/coffee for breakfast). I would definately recommend staying here if you are visiting Bhaktapur!

Home away from home 🏡 very nice ambience, family friendly and superb service, I would highly recommend very friendly management who went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. Room are clean and spacious, located near Dattatraya temple 🛕. Everyone are very nice and make you feel welcomed....And yes Very Restaurant was just great 👍 The place was clean and smelled good the staff the food was absolutely exquisite...food is exceptional very tasty and well prepared and you can choose among many menu options. I love the service and place and host is so friendly!!# And yes l also liked Morning Dhum🙏 Collection of wooden craft was just amazing

This is an incredibly special place— a truly unique, beautiful guest house run by a wonderfully kind and helpful family- stay here! Also, the delightful garden restaurant and café are fantastic— amazing cappuccinos!

I warmly recommend this hotel and restaurant. The location on Dattatraya square is wonderful with the magnificents temples and local culture we particularly appreciate the professionalism of the manager and its staff. The architecture is authentic newar style. Interior restaurant and bedrooms are beautiful, clean and very confortable. They also deliver support and information for visiting the region. It’s just 20 minutes from Katmandu and much more quiet. We will certainly going back to this hotel for the next time.

The charming old city Bhaktapur is one of my favorite cities in Nepal. To enjoy the beauty of the city I would highly recommend staying a night or two at Peacock Guest House, where you can get a good scope of Dattatreya Temple and other historical buildings around it. A few minutes walk from Durbar Square. Walking around the area felt safe and the locals are kind and friendly. It felt like time travel to stay in a 700 year old heritage building, magical, but with modern amenities. We stayed at the Baithak Room where we enjoyed people watching from the window. Low doors, winding stairs from the rooftop going to our room added charm. The room was lovely, very comfy, cozy and clean. i appreciate the heated blanket. very homey and relaxed atmosphere. The architecture of the building and woodwork of the interior was amazing. You might get awakened by the temple bells during early mornings, but I think it adds to the experience. Nice music, good food, great coffee, and warm-welcoming owner. a memorable experience.

We stayed here overnight at the recommendation if friends. Great central location, and quiet. Rather overpriced however. Spacious, nicely decorated en suite room in 15tjh century building. Lovely large breakfast in central courtyard.

While touring the nearby temples, I had to stop for some good tea. PGH is the place to be. The cafe place is warm and inviting. After a long day of walking and exploring, having a delightful tea and coconut cookie made my day. The waiter was kind and friendly. You can sit outside or inside. I opted for the inside. The place is so unique and I guarantee you, you will enjoy your tea (or whatever beverage pleases you).

Lovely guesthouse, clean and comfortable with Italian coffee for breakfast! Perfect location in renovated old Newari building in centre of city. Have their own woodcarving workshop. Family run with great helpful service. Best place we stayed in Nepal. Totally recommended!
