The hotel was clean and in a great location for the reason I was in Birmingham. It was near to the event that I was attending. The sink in my room had a stopper that prevented the water from escaping when I did not want it to collect in the sink during activities such as brushing my teeth and washing my face. The water was also cold and took an excessively long time to heat up even a little bit. It was not even lukewarm. Therefore, I checked out and was unable to shower. My son actually took a cold shower on a cold day, one of the coldest that we have had in Alabama in a while. I was also awakened by an emergency message and alarm to vacate the building due to an emergency only to learn later that it was a test. I learned this when the fire truck arrived and I heard an employee apologizing for not calling them to let them know that it was only a test. I only stayed overnight so there was no other opportunity for me to get a better impression. The only reason that I did not give a lower rating for the facilities is because once I reported the issue with the shower and sink, they sent a handy man to the room to make the repairs, but my son was already taking a cold shower at the time since we were scheduled to get back home to meet previously scheduled obligations. The staff person who was checking me out said that she couldn't do anything for me because I booked through a third party. However, she did state that she would refund the money that I paid for parking.

Rodeny the van driver was great and ontime. The hotel is located downtown and there are plenty of electric scooters to rent if you want to explore. I stayed here for work and have always had a great experience. Looking forward to my next stay here.

Family and I came in for the weekend to check out the Talledga race track. We were greeted with great, accommodating, and nice staff. Good hotel bar with great food and is a good spot to cool down after a day. If I came back I’d definitely stay here again.

Great experience. Rodney = great shuttle driver. Thanks for the great stay. It was nice to have the gym to myself but the gym was hot. Loved the late night menu got the grilled cheese and tomato soup at 12:45pm - so nice it was still open. Appreciate the hospitality.

I was with my family visiting and we ate downstairs at The Lab. One employee, who introduced herself as Stephanie, had burnt her hand and other employees who appeared to be management left her alone. Another employee, I recognized from yesterday during breakfast, Lisa, came in to bandage Stephanie's hand and help in her regular clothes so I assumed she may have come in on her day off. I applaud Lisa and Stephanie on their fantastic service despite this setback. However, it truly shines a light on the type of establishment that management will let their employees sink and not care. As a manager myself, I would never have set up my team for failure the way I witnessed today at The Lab. Great job to Stephanie, Lisa, and Kayla (who helped check us out towards the end of our visit). And I'm truly sorry, you have to work under that type of leadership.

Nice quiet room. Clean with friendly staff. Ate at the Lab which had nice staff and great food. Special shout out to Stephanie G. Who livens the place up with her beautiful personality. Nice way to start the day. And Lisa also was a great worker.
