The hotel was clean and in a great location for the reason I was in Birmingham. It was near to the event that I was attending. The sink in my room had a stopper that prevented the water from escaping when I did not want it to collect in the sink during activities such as brushing my teeth and washing my face. The water was also cold and took an excessively long time to heat up even a little bit. It was not even lukewarm. Therefore, I checked out and was unable to shower. My son actually took a cold shower on a cold day, one of the coldest that we have had in Alabama in a while. I was also awakened by an emergency message and alarm to vacate the building due to an emergency only to learn later that it was a test. I learned this when the fire truck arrived and I heard an employee apologizing for not calling them to let them know that it was only a test. I only stayed overnight so there was no other opportunity for me to get a better impression. The only reason that I did not give a lower rating for the facilities is because once I reported the issue with the shower and sink, they sent a handy man to the room to make the repairs, but my son was already taking a cold shower at the time since we were scheduled to get back home to meet previously scheduled obligations. The staff person who was checking me out said that she couldn't do anything for me because I booked through a third party. However, she did state that she would refund the money that I paid for parking.

My stay at the hotel has been amazing. The room was clean and everyone was polite and helpful. The best part for me was watching the ladies at the restaurant, Lisa, Steph and Erica. Watching them interact with the customers and making sure that they made them feel important was very cool to watch. In the short time, I was in the restaurant I saw them congratulating families that were getting to leave after being here for treatment, encourage others that were here for test results and work very hard to make everyone smile. The small steps they took to serve their customers made everyone’s day better. Keep up the good work!

My family used the ballroom to celebrate our grandmother’s 100th birthday. The management and staff went about above to make the occasion memorable. The food and service were great. Everyone I encountered was friendly and helpful. Definitely a great place to celebrate and special occasion.

It has been a complete pleasure every-time I have stayed here. Everyone is super friendly and helpful. The rooms are just right and the showers and provided soaps are amazing. The hotel is perfectly situated and very walkable to surrounding restaurants and shops. What made my stay is the daily breakfast downstairs at The Lab. The staff (Stephanie, Lisa and Erika) are absolutely wonderful and make my experience that much better. This is my second week spend at the Hilton Birmingham Downtown at UAB & I will always be back when I am in town for business.

Fantastic Stay! Lisa, Stephanie and Erika in The Lab were the absolute best!! By the time of our departure, we felt like we had made new friends. This is what Southern Hospitality is all about They really helped make our stay special. We can’t wait to come back.

It was okay. Nothing spectacular for sure. It could use some deep cleaning. The staff are kind and they work hard including housekeeping. By deep cleaning, I mean doors etc. Housekeeping can't possibly keep up with that. The small staff they do have work hard. Hire people Hilton. You can afford it.

I had a meal at The Lab restaurant in the hotel and had an amazing experience. Lisa was my server and the service she gave was to notch. She was very friendly and brought my food out very quickly. I had the Chicken and Chili soup and it was very delicious and flavorful. Lisa really made this a great experience and I look forward to my next visit there.

The room that I was assigned to, it was evident that someone pissed in the heater. Whenever you turned on the heater it smelled like straight piss. We notified front desk. This is room 1308 . Do not take this room if you stay at this hotel . We were good the entire stay at night in our room . We could not use the heat.
