When we got to our room it smelled like cigarettes. There were stains on the floors and on the box spring. Crumbs were also under the nightstand. I was shocked that there weren’t cleaned. The elevators were dirty and the flooring in the hallways as well. The front desk receptionist was very nice and moved us to another room. This room was extremely clean and smelled fresh. It was like night and day from our first room. I would still not recommend this hotel. The difference between the two rooms was questionable

Got there with good expectations for the price. The staff was nice enough upon arrival. After checking in, went to elevator, which looked and felt like it had not been serviced in ages, and headed to my floor. I was honestly scared to ride one of the two elevators the entire stay due to the shaking, scraping, jarring, and abrupt stoping of it. My room was just a basic king studio, which is one of the cheapest rooms they had. Even with it being the basic option, I still expect to walk into a hotel room that the room is well lit enough get things done around the room, especially when a well lit workspace is advertised. The couch was covered in nasty stains that had not been properly cleaned. The tray on the ottoman had knife carvings in it and was covered in splatters of food and who knows what else. Most of the table top surfaces had not been completely wiped down. The toilet had not been cleaned, the toilet paper holder was halfway torn from the wall, and I found a used washcloth that was covered in makeup and stuffed still in the shower!! I called to ask for trashcan liners as there were none in either trashcans and they said they did not have any for them! I then had to go to the front desk to find out that the only ice maker was on the 6th floor, which is just information you would think would be given upon checkin. Also I had to upgrade my internet to be able to attend an online zoom meeting as there was no wired connection as advertised and it still wasn’t strong enough!

Disappointed with this location. The room was clean however it needs touched up. Went to counter for linens for the pullout couch. We were given sheets, no blanket, and no pillow. They were out for the whole hotel! Front desk was a matter-of-fact with no apologies. Perhaps those could be stored in the bedrooms so that every room with a couch has that available. Air conditioning unit is a low window version and the thermostat on the wall does not work. The breakfast was lacking bread, eggs, hot coffee, etc. There were two different sports teams at the hotel and one would think the food service would be alerted and properly prepare for that. Trash was piled up on the trash can, tables and counters. Food was every where with 45 mins to go before breakfast ended. Front desk was friendly at check-in. Definitely not typical Bonvoy standards.

Great stay. Great location to restaurants. 2 minute drive. Probably would walk to them if it were summer time. Staff was great. All of the employees were friendly.15 dollar a day parking but it is in a covered garage that they validate no matter what time you decide to leave in or out. The breakfast was the only okay but there is a Starbucks right across the street.

Great hotel, excellent staff! The front desk associates were all awesome, super friendly, professional, and knowledgeable! Couldn’t ask for a better place to stay. We will recommend this property to friends and family and will definitely make this our place to stay when in Birmingham!!

Overall: Super friendly staff and super clean room! However, severely deficient maintenance and lack of management oversight means we won't stay here again: Room had broken closet door, off the rails, so only full length mirror in room was unusable Elevator light fixture on our floor had 7 out of 8 light bulbs out, creating a dark and unsafe feeling. Gym 830am: No remote for gym TV, no signal to individual machine screens 1 elliptical machine had broken video screen 1 elliptical machine would not respond to control settings 1 bicycle machine broken, screen unresponsive and seat adjustment lever broken No towels in cabinet No water in water dispenser Disinfectant wipes dispenser for machines empty No hand sanitizer Breakfast buffet (30 mins. before 0930AM closing time on Sunday): Out of coffee for the entire 30 minutes we waited Cold scrambled eggs swimming in some sort of oil Cold hockey puck hard and dry sausages
