Great hotel and perfect location if you want to climb Skiddaw. The staff were excellent and very friendly. They went beyond their responsibilities to make my stay even better than it already was. Can’t thank them enough. Thank you all for great weekend stay.

The worst place I have ever booked, we didn’t stay. Both outside toilets that were blocked and over flowing with toilet paper and poo, water on the tent floor around electric cables, they would not answer their phone or answer the door. With 3 young children it was not acceptable and we had to book another hotel. Luckily we could afford this, I feel sorry for any families that would have to stay there with no alternative. Refusing to refund despite pictures detailing the issues which included mouldy food in the outside kitchen and bedrooms.

My stay was warm and comfortable but I expected more ‘luxury’ being a ‘manor’. The hotel was echoey and noisy and yes it’s right under the flight path so no lay in even though check out was at 11. My room was tiny, barely enough room for the furniture, and the shaver socket didn’t work. I was also a bit uncomfortable that there were two handprints indented into the headboard…

The room was freezing when I arrived, as the radiator wasn't on heat and the single pain glass window offers no protection from the cold or the noise outside. The hallway outside my room, bear in mind it not a thoroughfare had the door slamming about 10 times from 0600 onwards. Due to no soft closing doors and wood throughout, it really echoes. Now some minor details, the shaving socket doesn't work, the sockets next to bed have no bedside table, so put your gadgets on the floor. Also, I arrived after midnight and a bit weary from my travels, the first room key card didn't work, then went back to reception, it didn't work again, then changed rooms and it didn't work, finally a card pulled from the jacket of the reception staff worked. It took me hours to get warm, was I put the radiator on, no real thought was given in preparing this room. So, it's fair to say I would not recommend, unless everywhere else is taken. Other people had said there are other more acoustically sound rooms, but are you taking a chance. The bathroom and toiletries look nice though and clean.

I received a £170 parking fine charge due to the hotel not logging my car registration on arrival. When i took this up with the hotel I just got fobbed off & they did absolutely nothing about it. Disgrace of a hotel and zero customer service

Been told all bookings at the he hotel have been cancelled to make way for non paying guests at the expense of the tax payer. Utter Disgrace that your hotel have accepted this, pure greed on the hotels behalf. Don't stay here and give this hotel your custom, there are plenty of B&B around the area that would be happy to take a paying customer. Talk with wallet or purse folks and do not stay here in future or any hotels from the Surya Hotels group. once these people get hit in the wallet then they might see the error of their ways.

Booked a room for an overseas visitor on 04/10/22. Called us at 1pm the day before to say the whole hotel had been booked out by someone else and that we could not have the room. ABSOLUTELY DISGRACEFUL treatment. We normally book this Hotel and this is a joke. Now cannot get another room elsewhere. I understand the need for business in todays market but to cancel the day before is a disgrace.

!!!CANCELLED BOOKING AT THE LAST MINUTE claiming that they overbooked, despite confirming the booking many days prior!!!! Left me with no accommodation. Booked through *********** who were beyond useless and will never use again. Deceitful and a total disgrace. Do not use!

Stayed for the park and stay at stanstead airport the night before our flight. Gave a 25 'deposit' (some were charged 25 foracreditcheck according to here) and was told I would have back next day. I stressed thisdue to the account it come from i needed it back as have not had to leave a deposit before. Man was adament it comes straight back the day of checkout! Week later no returned deposit, no explanation and no one will answer phone. No response to email from 3 4 days ago! There is nothing on my confirmation stating I wouldn't to pay this!! Reception tried to charge an additional 5 pound to park the night we stayed as we have a car. Obviously we have a car when I have booked park and stay! After pointing this out the parking 5 pound was forgotten about. Ah for you dont worry, he said. Room was comfortable we stayed across the road. The shower was nice warm and powerful. I would stay again if down to the rooms but I would not stay again due to this rubbish customer service! And defo dont be leaving any deposits!
