Lovely place but a bit pricey. Great to see so many horses close up and the jacuzzi was amazing

Finding hairs in the sink was the first disappointment, which made us question if the room had been cleaned properly. Being woken at 3.30am by neighbouring room and being kept awake by same room until 5am. Walls are too thin - we could hear them talking and I mean exactly what was said. All rooms seem to have connecting doors, which adds to the problem. Didn't report to night porter as this could have caused further noise. Fire alarm sounded about 09.00. On leaving we past an emergency exit which was open and staff standing inside, who seemed surprised to see us. They told us that there was no emergency, it was a piece of machinery setting off alarm. Yet no staff member put themselves out to come round the rooms to tell people not to evacuate. On departure we had to wait 5-10 mins for reception to come off phone, as they were dealing with a motorhome booking query. Not receptionists fault, as obviously hotel reception staff also deal with lodge and motorhome enquiries and are not dedicated to hotel.

Nice surroundings but the food really was not great. Maybe we just ordered wrong as other dishes going past looked nice. Our steak pies were really just basic, few crap chips & hard veg. Requested Mayo & sauce - dishes had no spoon. A lemon meringue & caramel cake were stale & couldn’t be eaten. Certainly not worth £50 for the steak pies & 2 soft drinks & 2 coffees. The cakes were taken off the bill & at £6 each - quite a lot for a little stale cake. Service was awful. 2 or 3 times had to ask for cake & coffee with different staff & they never returned. Ross however was very apologetic.

Ingleston has been one of our number 1 top location to stay at or eat at. We are just home after a nights stay and the hotel is as great as ever. Staff are friendly and welcoming. We asked for additional milk for the kettle/coffee machine and the staff brought it up. We went early before checking in so we could have a drink, luckily there was sun so we sat in the garden with our beers/cocktails. Again, the waiting staff were amazing and friendly also. We had booked dinner at half 5. The food was excellent. We had heard the menu was changed and were a bit hesitant on how good it would be, but majority of the good popular items on the menu were kept. Only sad thing is the pizza infused cinnamon sticks. They were our favourite but there is plenty of options for desserts and the cake counter. So, you can’t really complain. We would highly recommend visiting, eating and staying at Ingleston. They have so many options to cover all types of customers.

I thought the lodge was comfortable, very well equipped, only thing that required improvement is the shower wasn’t working properly, the pressure was very low, still managed to shower but it was difficult to adjust the temperature due to low pressure

Gluten free options could be improved. Gluten free garlic bread was a small piece of shop bought bread with garlic butter not covering half of the bread. Others said their meal was fine and a decent sized portion. Really enjoyed the cocktails

Visited for an overnight with my wife on 16th to 17th March. Overall very good hotel, exceptionally clean and modern with an outstanding Italian restaurant in Palomino's which we had dinner in. Breakfast on the Sunday morning however was polar opposite! buffet style, self serve breakfast which if you are in any hurry to eat and leave then forget about it. One chef making breakfast for all the guests which unfortunately left a lot of people standing around waiting for hot food and when he did bring hot food out it was two of something, three of something else, not ideal when you have a dozen or so hungry guests waiting impatiently for hot food prior to an 11am checkout time. Breakfast service aside (and i do hope its addressed asap) I would almost certainly return for an overnight again just for the sheer pleasure of eating in Palomino's.

On check in we were met by Helen, Lynn and Emma. All were so friendly and informative. Had a meal in Palominos and the following staff were outstanding in service and friendliness….Mhairi, John, Ross, Suzanne, Kelly, Jess, Findlay, Kai, Callum and Conner. A big shout out to the kitchen brigade for the outstanding quality of food. Thanks to Megan for looking after our bedroom too. On departure met The Wedding Team who are the best anywhere. All are amazing people and are great ambassadors for the company. A must visit place when in the area and we will be back for sure.
