Went for the all inclusive weekend , the receptionist staff are brilliant especially sue , the bar staff again are great all except one on Friday night he served everyone but carried on talking to the other bar staff about football ect really rude , the barman jack is great The rooms are clean and tidy , the only downside is the toilet in the bathroom is rammed next to the bath and wall , you can’t open your legs when you are on the toilet . The dining room has had some changes , dinner used to be relaxing , but now there’s no waiters asking you what you would like to drink you have to go to the bar in the other room , which isn’t close to the restaurant, leaving my husband on his own, yet they are all standing around by the desert counter chatting, breakfast again used to be relaxing , but they have stopped bring toast to the table , so now you have to go to the other side of the dining room the toaster is so slow and it only slightly touches the toast the first time in , so you put it in again and its cremated, my husband has Parkinson’s so I had to leave him to get drinks at dinner and at breakfast get his breakfast first then the toast keeping one eye on him , then get my breakfast it was too stressful, which it has never been in all the years we have been coming to the Claremont before and after my husbands diagnosis, another small thing is why do the waiters now take empty plates away from the table while the other person is still eating , my husband just put his knife and fork down and the plate was whipped away , I was still eating this happened at dinner and breakfast on both days , the food is ok good choice . The entertainment again brilliant The downstairs , bar and lounge have had a refurb and it’s lovely , hopefully it’s the bedrooms next and corridors, the cleaners and chambermaids again all work hard and are all helpful and polite.
