There are some special reasons for our low score. Nice room, and good common space. We were pleased with and grateful for the sea view upgrade. We were less happy with the cost of parking (£18 a day if you can believe that in Blackpool, and not even for a full day - just till noon the next day) and the £100 cash (NOT the usual pre-authorisation) that they hoovered immediately out of our bank account when we arrived, described as "security", whatever that means. Perhaps we looked like 60 odd year old hellraisers. Almost as bad was the way were were talked to by the staff when we protested - "its on the website" being their response, claiming "we don't hold the money". Of course they do - we still haven't got it back three days later. They warned us "our" bank might take 14 days to return it. The staff didn't seem to understand our concerns, or really to care. Presumably they hear it all the time, but we felt patronised, not least by the reference to the website, which it seems we were supposed to have studied. This is an obvious con - don't stay here unles you are happy to make them an interest free loan. A shame as we would have been regular stayers had we been happier and the staff who dealt with us less surly and unhelpful. If you do stay here, two full days parking across the road is £20!
