Royal Oakwell Hotel

You are getting what you pay for.The level of comfort and what you receive is in the price.The breakfast was good for the price paid. This was booked by someone else for a large group. Would I have booked it for myself ?No Hotel is old and in a very run down area. Bed was clean and new carpet however the bathrooms are a little scary and old. We stayed as part of a large group and didn't share the amenities with anyone else which was a plus. Anton at front of house made our stay a little more enjoyable and a little extra fun without him the stay would have been even more dismal. I wouldn't recommend for couples or solo family's but for large groups wanting multiple rooms on a budget you can make the best of a bad place on a very small budget. Very close to the Amusements and beach! Would I return?unfortunately not!

Hotel not really the best description for the Royal Oakwell. It's more in line with a 1970's B&B. We stayed as part of large group of adults and kids. It's very dated but clean. The beds are very comfy, fresh and clean. The breakfast is also worth getting out of bed for. Anton the manager is a real asset to this business. He is helpful, charming and funny. Thank you Anton (darling) for making our stay so much fun.

I stayed one night at this b&b, booking very last minute for a low cost. I wasn’t sure what to expect. There was free parking outside the hotel. The location of the hotel was ideal; 10 minute walk to pleasure beach or 10 minute walk to the tower. The corridors were dated but the room was very clean, with new carpet, bedding and towels. The room looked like it had been recently been painted. The bathroom was dated but very clean. Shower wasn’t very powerful but plenty of hot water. Kettle and tea and coffee available in your room and a flat screen tv. We didn’t eat or use the bar so cannot comment on those. The guy who checked us in was very pleasant and friendly.

I arrived on Saturday the 25th of November for 2 nights. Our t.v didn’t work. The guy at the reception said he couldn’t do anything about it. He didn’t change our room for us. The radiators didn’t work either it was freezing!!! I highly wouldn’t recommend it.

Just heading home after a stay in Blackpool. We had a fantastic time and our kids didn't want to leave. The royal Oak well is a great wee hotel with lounge and everything you need for your stay. Anton, the manager is so friendly and accommodating. Really enjoyed chatting to this man. We will be back!

Extremely homely and very clean! Went with my partner for a 'cheap an cheeful weekend' wasnt expecting much for £40 a night, for the first weekend of the summer holidays ... but received a very warm welcome, the host was excellent. While old fashioned the rooms we're cosy and very clean! The bed was also extremely comfy. Location is excellent, right between the main poer and the South Pier and about 10 minutes walk from each. The breakfast was very good and although they don't offer lunch or dinner are happy to allow you to eat takeaways in the bar area. Very much recommend!

We stayed here over Easter weekend and it was a nice place. You can park your car for £5 a night which can be cheaper than the NPC parking if you can't get on street parking close by. There is a bar down the stairs and they do breakfast but it didn't start till May apparently. The room was clean. The telly seemed in an awkward place but apart from that it was good. Was definitely value for money. It's near central in location so not far from tower and a wee bit of a walk to the pleasure beach

Warm welcome on arrival. Room small & basic but adequte. Comfy bed, nice linen. tv and tea/coffee. The shower however let it down. Mouldy base which looked off putting. No hand towels and no hairdryer. Breakfast was ok except for cheap nasty sausages. Staff pleasant.

Just got back from blackpool and thoroughly enjoyed are stay at this hotel ..to all staff and owner's thank you.. you have a friendly hotel that serves lovely breakfast ( we had scrambled egg and sausage) instead of the full breakfast..and a great bar area that looks like a little pub..for families and couples I would totally recommend this hotel..cheers all hope to se you again.
