We had a brilliant stay here. The rooms were spotlessly clean and furnished to a very high standard. There were so many thoughtful touches, like the monogrammed towels, that really made the experience feel truly five-star. Gary was incredibly welcoming and made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. The breakfast was probably the best we’ve had in years — a fantastic selection, all freshly cooked and absolutely delicious. An exceptional stay in every way. We were sorry we couldn't stay longer! We would highly recommend it.

Gary and Nigel,s place is truly exceptional. The incredible attention to detail and careful design made staying here an absolute treat. The bed was super comfortable, and the monogrammed towels were large and soft. The shower was truly walk in and the heating made the room toasty. Downstairs, the two lounge rooms were elegantly designed and very comfortable. There was a large drinks menu to choose from. We were extremely fortunate to be there on Friday when dinner is served. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience, with food of the absolute highest quality. I haven’t eaten like that many times in my life. We had all three courses!! Breakfast in the morning was the same quality. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay.

Faultless from start to finish, spotless clean, friendly service and very attentive when called, but equally great and left in peace to chill, enjoy the tunes and the public rooms with a beer from the drinks menu. Breakfast was superb and obviously quality ingredients used at all times. Looking forward to the next visit….

We booked two nights accommodation with dinner at Ivybank Lodge having heard about this wonderful guest house from a friend. We arrived Friday and were greeted by Gary and allocated the suite which is a large room overlooking the side of the property. The room was comfortable, well equipped and tastefully furnished. The bathroom was also well equipped with a walk in shower and lovely Arran toiletries. The bed had quality linen, duvet and pillowcases and was comfortable. Dinner on both evenings was absolutely incredible. We both had starters which were beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. For the main course on the first night, we both had the pan roasted venison which again was out of this world. As soon as you put the venison in your mouth the juicy flavours were in overflow. The second night we both had fillet steak which was cooked perfectly and tasted divine. One of the best steaks I have ever had eating out. We loved the home made chips too. Everything was just wonderful. Breakfast next morning was also another wow factor. We both had porridge which I can honestly say is the best porridge I have ever tasted and the fruit served on top was quality and super tasty. We then had the full Lodge one morning and salmon and scrambled egg the second morning which again were beautifully presented and delicious. Nigel is most definitely an excellent chef. All in all we had a fabulous two nights and the October weather was beautiful and sunny and the temperature even got to 19 degrees. We will definitely return.

Great stay, immaculate room, decor was lovely. Welcome was personal and straight to the room which was cosy and well decorated, lovely tea/coffee stand. Bed was comfy and had a great nights sleep. Breakfast to order was delicious. Recommend this hotel. One minor criticism-shower in our room was temperamental from scolding to cold but workable once I read the notice on the settings! Otherwise all great. Will stay here if in the area again.

My first experience of Ivybank has been fantastic. I booked 3 nights in the Superior King. I was on my own, and really just wanting some time away to relax. I achieved this easily at Ivybank. The owners, Gary and Nigel, are lovely, the guest house is quiet, set in really nice grounds with parking on site. The room was really nice; clean and with everything you could need to hand. The food is lovely. I had an evening meal there on two nights, and the breakfast was amazing! I would definitely book again.
