Beautiful hotel full of character. Lovely welcoming fire. Staff were very friendly and can't do enough for you. We were given a complimentary upgrade to a 4 poster room, which had a huge comfortable bed. The only down side was the dinner menu which was limited and expensive for what it was - shin of beef £28.95 and Belly Pork £25.95 both are cheaper cuts of meat.

A lovely castle hotel, with all the expected quirky additions. The hotel is set in stunning surroundings and has 19 bedrooms. Friendly and helpful staff. Amazing choice of whiskeys, I had far too many. See photos. Would recommend, but don’t expect a 5 star hotel as it isn’t, so not worth criticising it when a room is from only 100 pounds ish per night. All in all, pleas at stay, but does need some investment from the Swedish Banker who owns it.

Our recent stay at Dalmunzie Castle Hotel left us with mixed feelings. While the staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, it was evident that they were short-staffed, leading to some delays in service. It seemed like many individuals were expected to juggle multiple roles, which affected the efficiency of the operations. Unfortunately, the condition of the room left much to be desired. The carpets were lifting, and there was noticeable mold in the ceiling of the bathroom. The tv wires were tangled hanging down from the tv onto the desk. However, despite these issues, the bed was comfortable, and the room had a cozy atmosphere. We did book the last room available so there is a chance the other rooms are not as bad. On a positive note, the food served at the hotel was of high quality and quite tasty, although the menu was somewhat limited. My spouse struggled to find something to eat and there was not a lot close by. It would have been nice to have a bit more variety to choose from. In terms of amenities, Dalmunzie Castle Hotel offers some attractive features, such as a beautiful location surrounded by stunning scenery. Additionally, the hotel boasts many charming lounge areas and a bar where guests can relax and unwind. Overall, while there were some drawbacks to our stay at Dalmunzie Castle Hotel, such as the issues with the room and limited menu options, the friendly staff and picturesque surroundings helped to make the experience more enjoyable.

Lovely, warm, friendly staff and big room. Had our evening meal here, it was tasty, it was a little on the expensive side for food but equally we had an enjoyable meal. Loved being able to watch the squirrels and seeing the stars, and stunning views

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights. Key points: beautiful castle with character and a lovely ‘feel’, friendly staff, very good food, spacious room with the best shower ever in stunning surroundings. We went to the Glenshee ski centre for a walk in the snow. The walk was nice but for me the ski lifts spoiled the views. Our second walk was from the castle to the summit of Glas Tulaichean and back. That was a belter of a walk which I would recommend. It was very cold at the top and coming back to the hotel and sitting by the fire was bliss. I would love to come back and walk some more.

Fabulous surroundings and a warm welcome by the staff. Rooms are stuffed with old furniture in keeping with the theme of the hotel. Dinner is fine but felt a matchbox sized piece of cod was a little tight for the price, but delicious and well cooked all the same. My wife’s salmon was perfectly portioned. The breakfast was outstanding. Only negatives were an early morning fire alarm, colourful language from the kitchen whilst in the lounge and absence of a blind in Murray suite bathroom. I suspect the guest walking the corridor was more embarrassed than me. The computer system had failed on check out but was easily resolved with a phone call later in the day.

Amazing hotel! Obviously the location is what initially gets your attention but once in the hotel you see everything else is as good as the views. Outstanding food, at breakfast and dinner, good drinks selection, very friendly and helpful staff, luxurious and spacious rooms. This is one third stay here and each time our room has been stunning, the food out of this world and the team very welcoming, to us and our dogs. Our favourite place, can’t wait to go back!

Great New Year package at this stunning historic hotel. Lots of character and traditional features. Food was devine, so well presented and bursting with flavours. The chefs deserve a rosette award definitely. Staff were very attentive and friendly. Special mention to Tamara and Sara for serving our food and being so pleasant. Busy ladies who were very hard working. Elaine helped with birthday request which was most appreciated so thanks to her. Jay ensured we had all the drinks we needed and enjoyed chatting with us which, along with the cosy log fires made Dalmunzie feel so homely. So many lovely touches - the goody bag on departure being one. The Scottish acoustic musicians, falconry display, clay pigeon shooting, quiz, ceilidh were all enjoyed immensely. So a big thanks and well done to everyone involved in making this such a great, memorable New Year.

We visited with the 2023/2024 New Years Eve package. It was a wonderful experience to stay in this remote 16th Century castle. The estate has extensive grounds to explore although the snow was deep when we visited making walking difficult in places. The staff are very friendly and helpful and Jay the Barman kept us well supplied with drinks. The hotel laid on some excellent entertainment including fireworks at midnight, plus clay pigeon shooting and a falconry display.
