The hotel is obviously in need of some updating. There was nothing else available in town - and we only needed one night. I was suprised when entering the room- even though it’s old and needs some TLC the room was clean and the bed was comfy. BUT- After checking out I arrived at home 5.5 hrs later. I then Realized I left a sentimental necklace in the room- I have called 3 times and of course I am told it wasn’t found and I should check my luggage again!!! I know it’s my own fault- but, I guarantee if it was just a pillow they would have found it!! For this reason I will NEVER stay at a Rodeway again!! I thought honesty was the best policy!!

We knew nothing about the place but were road-weary, so we gave it a try. We were pleased. Very friendly, clean and safe. The breakfast provided was good and the staff was friendly. The furniture had a rusic home-made look.

The Stone Lizard Lodge carries that philosophy into today. After being on the road for a good number of days, I really needed this place, and it exceeded my expectations. How often does that happen anymore? I thought this place was a bargain and great value for the low price. Very clean, cosy, wood panelling interior walls. Comfortable bed. Roomy. Very friendly and helpful check-in. All the usual amenities like TV, Microwave, A.C. Heater... Blanding is a great jumping off point for many local sights the Newspaper Rock archaeological site, Bluff, Gooseneck State Park, Valley of the Gods, Edge of the Cedars State Park.
