4 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️,we had a wonderful stay at the Alona,the staff on reception were very helpful,Chris in the Bar & Dining room is a great asset to the Hotel,he was more that helpful to all our needs, We would recomend the Alona Hotel for a nice pesseful break & lovely lakeside walks. Very comfortable and bright, airy hotel. Clean and very friendly attentive staff. Nothing too much trouble. Fabulous breakfast, thanks especially to Christopher and the lovely lady chef. Took a nice walk around the lock opposite. I am happy to recommend this hotel.

Not a beautiful hotel as the sign suggested. Maybe when it opened 30 of so years ago and then never had a decorate since. Our room was tired, old carpet, dated decor and had stained bedsheets. But the lady on reception Sunday night and Monday morning was lovely and moved us to another room. Bathroom had dead flies in it. I got food poisoning in the restaurant on the Sunday night and we avoided the cooked breakfast as per previous reviews and it didn’t look nice. Coffee was awful and our key card kept not working. Lady in check out didn’t bother to ask how our stay was because she probably knew it wouldn’t be a positive response. I hate to think what this place is like in peak season, avoid at all costs. I’m guessing the main draw is the poor excuse for a theme park next door and the country park which needs to get some more bins as people seem to litter there a lot! No return visit for us.

We didn't think the food was worth the money, as we had 3 burgers, 1 panini with a scant salad on both dishes plus chips. For just over £50, this was not worth the money. Wouldn't go back for a meal again, nor recommend it to anyone as it was way too expensive for what it was.

From the second my group of young football players and the parents walked through the reception door this hotel was one of the most pleasant and relaxed experiences we have ever experienced..special thanks to Gary who was amazing..

Stayed here on a business trip, it was a welcome stop after 8 hrs driving. Friendly staff, clean rooms, great food, a good range of larger and some very tasty Scotch.

Though a four star hotel very bad heating system. The windows were not fully functional as we could not open them. The reception phone was never answered. Rooms were not cleaned and tea ration not replenished properly. The breakfast was not served properly as if we asked for omelette the staff wasn’t responding as they had exhausted their material. Though rooms are shown as airconditioned as per Kesari travels it wasn’t a case to be.
