Holiday Inn BLOOMINGTON-UNIVERSITY AREA by IHG

The room was spacious. Bed was ok. The hotel is a bit dated and the shower was not working.

This place is pretty dumpy. Dark hallways with stained carpets. 2 of 4 lights out in bathroom. Decayed bug in my bed. Dirt all over windowsill. Just creepy.

This is by far the dirtiest hotel I have ever stayed in and I have stayed in youth hostels in Europe. I understand they can take advantage of IU parents, but this is ridiculous. I paid almost 300 dollars a night for a run down, dirty, smelly room. Just because its a holiday inn doesnt mean it should be this dirty. Carpets were filthy snd stained. Curtains had mold on them. Just everywhere was Pretty filthy.

The room was dirty. There we blood stains on the bed and what looked like shedding from bed bugs when I looked them up. I don’t think the blankets had been washed. Stains on the carpet. I was in the room for only twenty minutes when I started noticing more and more things. I showed pictures to the staff and they offered me a refund and a different room for free. I decided not to stay there at all after that. It ruined my plans for that night and the next day. I still have not received my refund for the room or for the $50 damage fee that they adding on while checking in.

Expected more. Room floor was badly stained. For almost $300/night I think asking for a clean room isn't asking for anything over and above. Just disappointed in the overal condition of the property.

No hot water. Phones in the entire hotel did not work. Tv did not work. Checked in. Was in room at 10:30pm. Another hotel guest and her daughter entered my room with a key! They said it was the SECOND room they had been sent to with someone else already in it! Went to front desk (had to physically go since phones didn’t work. Clerk didn’t seem to think it was big deal nor did the”general manager” the next day. Was told at one point I wasn’t even registered at the hotel. And in the next breath was told I was registered to a room on the first floor when I was on the fourth. Not ONCE did anyone apologize for the “mixup “.

I would say it was adequate. My room was pretty clean but not immaculate. The fitness center was pretty depressing and dirty. It's a dated property, and I know not every hotel can be a luxury resort but it's so expensive to stay in Bloomington now that I feel like they could put a little money into freshening it up.

Booked in part because of the pool. It didn't mention in the property description that it was an outdoor pool, and not open on March 2nd. Signed up and paid for the complimentary breakfast for both mornings of our stay. They failed to mention that the kitchen isn't open for business on Mondays. My ratings are on the generous side
