I stayed here because I had business at Indiana University. The rooms and service were similar to other Hyatt Places, but they did seem a little outdated. It's in the downtown area, so there are no problems with restaurants or bars.

The hallways and guest rooms were nice and cool. The staff was available anytime we needed them. Parking was easy this time. Pain for was interesting, there’s a QR code. You used to stop and grab a ticket. It is a big hotel, it’s in a great location, it’s a great value! The bed was soft and comfortable, and the pillows were awesome! On weekdays breakfast is over at 9 AM, likeall the Hyatt hotels, and I always wish it would run later. Highly recommend this location in Bloomington

The atmosphere of the hotel was pleasant and clean. The most impressive thing was the helpfulness and kindness of the employees.

Nice hotel in great location in the heart of Bloomington's Kirkwood area with easy walking to a variety of restaurants, shopping and bars . Comfortable and clean rooms, clean and fresh gathering spaces and helpful staff made our stay enjoyable. The full breakfast was very nice. Areas that detracted from our stay were 1. Room doors created a loud slam when closing and could be heard throughout the hallway as other guests entered/exited their rooms 2. Smoke detector strobe light in room was too bright for nighttime 3. Sliding glass bathroom door didn't provide full privacy and illuminated the whole suite at night when bathroom light is turned on. 4. Outsourced parking garage management is no longer an easy additional fee to your hotel bill. Instead there is an app that you access through QR code and was very awkward to navigate just to pay.

There was a major issue with my hotel reservation. I arrived to the Hyatt Place in Bloomington, IN. Upon arrival around they knowingly put us in a room that had already been deemed “out of order”. The room was unkept, the bed was not made, the HVAC system did not work, the TV did not work, and the telephone did not work unless on speaker mode. This is completely unacceptable and incredibly unprofessional. As a consumer, I faithfully met my obligation by submitting a payment of $642 for a room for two nights. I went down to the hotel concierge desk and politely asked if they could switch me to another room—they said they are unable to do so. They state that the hotel is at capacity. Yet, while sitting in the lobby sitting in the phone with Hyatt Customer Service, I saw them check in and give away a room. The attendant at the front desk is telling me that I am unable to cancel my reservation—even in this extenuating circumstance. I have asked to speaker to their supervisor or manager. They then state that they are unable to contact them, even in this situation, because it is “after hours”. Additionally, they are unable to provide any alternatives or recourses to resolve the situation. They were unable to provide any guarantee that the situation will be sorted out in the morning, either by providing a different room and discounting the first night, discounting the reservation, or canceling the reservation altogether. They are stating that I will have to wait until 9 AM the next morning to speak to the general manager—and that even if in speaking with the general manager, there is no guarantee that anything can be done. They continue to state that the hotel was reserved through a third party vendor and they are locked out from doing anything, which makes absolutely zero sense seeing as how Hyatt hotels is the end dealer of this transaction. I also called Hyatt Customer service. They provided a very similar story—stating that this will have to be handled in person with the in house staff (a step I have already taken, albeit to no avail). So now it is 2 a.m. EDT, and they are telling me I have no options. I understand that there is a cancellation policy, but I also recognize that there are extenuating circumstances, and in this case, given the gross negligence of knowingly placing us in a unit that required maintenance and yet providing other “working” rooms to guests who arrived later, constitutes a special circumstance. This is completely unacceptable. Bottom Line: We were placed in a room that was knowingly listed as "under maintenance". Then, when i asked the staff to have change rooms, they said they were unable to do so because they had no availability. Yet, I saw two other guests check in after my request. I was told they could not contact the supervisor or general manager. When I tried talking to the manager on multiple occasions, I was told he wasn't in. When I finally spoke to the manager, he said he would comp both nights. Yet, when

I recently stayed at the Hyatt in Bloomington and had a very pleasant experience. The staff was friendly, helpful, and accommodating throughout my stay. The hotel itself was well-maintained, and the rooms were clean, comfortable, and inviting. While there were a couple of minor issues—the TV needed to be fixed on the first day, and the air conditioning struggled a bit to keep the room cool—the staff responded promptly and did their best to address the concerns. Overall, I enjoyed my stay and appreciated the excellent customer service. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others visiting the area.

The location was perfect to walk around downtown Bloomington. And it's next to the Captain Janeway statue! The room was clean, and the beds were comfortable. It was very quiet on the floor. I went down for a drink in the evening, they had a good selection of snacks and drinks. Cheaper than the bar across the street!

The room is clean and you got everything you need. Because the location is very central, some rooms may have higher noise level compare to others. My room is a corner room facing the main st. I do not mind the noise level as I enjoy the view. The service is impeccable and the amenities is alright. Will come back again for a business stay.
