Stations Inn

The owners were very accommodating, helpful and the place was clean and tidy. Glenda was especially great, helping me retrieve something left behind. Went well above and beyond! The Inn is on a hill overlooking a lovely Alpaca farm and you can see the sea in the distance! Would stay here again if ever in the area

Set in a Rural setting no more than 5 kms from Hokitika, The Stations Inn is a 4* plus Hotel, with our outstanding Host " Glenda " who shone right from our first point of contact in making our booking so easy for us. The rooms are very well setup, roomy and with an outlook over paddocks with Cows with calves, bulls , Lamas enjoying lush green pasture. On site were established gardensl and Trees and all in all, in a great setting with good photo opportunities. Outside the rooms are tables and chairs, perfect to enjoy a coffee and sweet treats in a picturesque settings There is a restaurant on the property too, . On the website there are three excellent photos which really help complete the Stations Inn offering and environment. It would be very hard to better Stations Inn as a great stopover for the two days minimum or better still, stay for longer as we did . Glenda is a 5 star Host who went out of her way to meet any requests that we had . We hope to come back again and the distance of 3 hours 45 mins from our home in Christchurch is no ordeal , especially given the magnificent scenery along the way .

Loved staying at the Stations Inn. The room was spacious and clean with everything you should need for a comfortable stay. Small well appointed kitchenette, comfy bed, and the large bathroom with heated floor was great to step onto in the morning! I also loved the outdoor terrace and lovely views. Being away from the township in a rural setting it was so fabulously quiet and I enjoyed watching the Llamas in the paddock beyond the complex.

The location is so idyllic, peaceful, with the most amazing tranquil views and beautiful hosts. The sunsets alone are a reason to stay here. The rooms are so spacious and the beds are comfy, with a great shower as well. Make sure you check out their restaurant it is to die for!!!!

We stayed in an accessible room for my handicapped wife. The room was clean and comfortable. Stations Inn is on a plateau above the town, which gives a view of Tasman Sea as well as the Southern Alps. It is surrounded by scenic green pasture with alpacas, and is very quiet. The Milky Way is visible on clear nights. I would recommend this hotel for its comfort and accessible amenities.

A beautiful motel overlooking open countryside and the sea with spectacular sunsets. The owners are wonderful and couldn't do enough for us. The units are clean and serviced daily. Glenda kindly provided us with ice each day so we could enjoy our gin and tonics on the terrace whilst watching the stunning sunsets. We only wished the restaurant was open as we had heard amazing things about the steak and lamb. But like so many West Coast businesses the shortage of staff has had a dramatic affect on their ability to provide a full service. We would gladly come again.

A perfect sanctuary to spend a few days on the drive down the West Coast. The room was very comfortable and had a beautiful outlook towards the sea. The available continental breakfast was one of the best I had while travelling in the South Island. Glenda, the host, is lovely and welcoming. She is available to provide whatever assistance is required. We ate at the restaurant and had a delicious meal with a beautiful outlook. Highly recommend staying here when visiting Hokitika.

We stayed at Stations Inn and felt welcome as soon as we arrived. Glenda is a lovely and accommodating host in the most serene surroundings. We had the spa suite room and it was a fantastic size for my Mum, myself and my daughter and we had a fantastic night’s sleep. Waking up and seeing alpacas is wonderful. Unfortunately the restaurant was closed at this time, which was a shame as the food sounds amazing. We loved our stay, thank you.

What a fabulous place to stay …… so peaceful but only 10 mins drive from town ….beautiful big clean room with a lovely view …. Everything you could possibly need is here for your stay ….perfectly kept gardens make for a lovely view outside ….. wonderful friendly hosts who do all they can to make your stay perfect……. Best we have stayed in by far ! Shame restaurant closed but didn’t spoil our stay as plenty other places to eat locally ……. Will definitely return
