Applebee's Homestay

Applebee's Homestay is in a great location on the banks of the Con River, with loads of boats taking tourists up and down to Phong Nha Caves. Loads of friendly bars and good restaurants around. Rooms are big, very clean, with A/C and excellent wi- fi and private bathrooms. We went out to dinner to a river boat restaurant and that was great. Breakfast next morning very poor - a plastic covered menu with a choice of eggs, cooked five different ways or banana pancakes. Food very slow in arriving, only one cup of coffee offered and there was no one to ask for another cup. Lack of staff on duty. We went to the coffee shop across the road to get a proper second coffee.

We loved our stay at Applebee’s homestay, it’s right on the river with a gorgeous view of the mountains. Easy access to the town centre and motorbike/ bicycle rental can be arranged from the homestay to get anywhere you need to in the surrounding area. The home cooked breakfast was also delicious, especially with the Vietnamese coffee! Thang and his family are warm and welcoming, and went above and beyond to help us with everything we needed - thang speaks brilliant English so it was easy to converse. We would definitely go back to this homestay and recommend to any travellers looking for a relaxing, peaceful place to stay in Phong Nha.
