Booked dinner for 530, arrived prompt. Shambles from the word go. Pity I hadn't checked other reviews as seems similar experiences I see prior to ours. Food took about 50 mins to an hour, no menus provided, had to ask for cutlery, none on table. Food delivered but no cutlery with it, left us staring at food. Not great with a little one in tow. Food arrived before drinks. Drinks order wrong. No condiments (just salt and pepper!).on table. Drinks unavailable. Nobody cleared table or asked if we wanted dessert for pur little one. Multiple other customers same issues. Total.shanble of a dinner service. And they added 10 percent service charge to the bill!. Asked for this to be removed, but frankly should have gone for a lot more. Need to train staff, hire more and provide proper management. Manager didn't even come out when we complained, just sent his poor waiter. Likely not their fault, but disastrous management.

Nice people trying there best , food and service was good , couple of hiccups when we arrived but all in all would recommend , the steak pie was nice and my wife’s scampi was sizeable , do feel that the prices were high but this seems standard all over Scotland ,

Originally we were going to stay in Aviemore, but decided to pay a bit extra and book this hotel as it was close to the Boat of Garten golf course. For the price of the room (around £150) we expected a clean and comfortable hotel with good service. Unfortunately we got none of the above. Our room was at the top of the hotel and the carpets in the hallway were sticky, shabby, threadbare and covered with silver tape to prevent anyone from tripping. The room itself was pretty small and not really particularly appealing. The bed was lumpy and uncomfortable. The hot water tap rotated in my hand and didn't work. The shower door wouldn't shut and the water pressure was next to non existent. At night the room was uncomfortably warm and the heating was not even switched on. In the middle of the night I checked the radiator and it was cold. The window couldn't be opened. Going down to dinner in the evening followed a similar pattern. Typical pub food that was over priced, verging on the extortionate. Service in the restaurant was pretty poor. There were enough of the young staff present but they were too busy fooling around to bother with the customers. We only ordered a main course and it took 90 minutes to arrive. What was really annoying was the constant door bell "ding dong" to tell the waiting staff that food was ready to be taken to the table. The food itself was average to say the least. To finish it off, around 7 in the morning there was a loud noise from just outside the room reminiscent of an airplane engine. Walking out of the open fire door at the side of the room to look, it appears that there is a large flue type structure which was the culprit. If you want to pay an exorbitant price for a small shabby room, £4 for a small bottle of coke, £6 for a coffee, £19 for a bbq crispy chicken burger allied with poor service then this is the hotel for you.,....but before you do, I recommend you read some of the recent reviews that are consistently similar. I certainly won't be back.

Very disappointing visit to the restaurant. We had booked a table and when we arrived the staff were clearly overworked and being rude to each other in front of us, saying they couldn't deal with us as they were serving food. Although it wasn't a particularly cold day, the fire was on, and as a result the restaurant too hot. The ciabatta bits were dry and served without a dip and the macaroni cheese was the most bland mac cheese I have ever tasted. The mac cheese tasted like undrained watery pasta with no cheese flavoring. The dessert was nice but looks like it came out of packaging. The meal was far too overpriced for the poor quality of it.

Arrived at the hotel after a long day of walking along the Speyside Way and really looking forward to a hot shower and a pint in the sun. Both weren’t meant to be… after a disappointing shower of a few drops of water (gave up washing my hair as I would still be rinsing it today) I went downstairs to get a drink only to find out that all 7 taps weren’t working (hotel is owned by a brewery 👀) and they had sold out of bottled beer. I am not even going to go into detail about the room but I have seen bigger cupboards. Bit of a shame really as the location is absolutely stunning. Saying this we had an absolute blast with some of the locals (thanks for a great evening Brian & Stu)

My friend & I went here for lunch. We ordered 2 sandwiches, a portion of chips & some cheesy garlic bread. A group of 5 people ordered their food 15 minutes after us & were served 10 minutes later. 5 minutes later we asked the waiter where our food was & he came back to say it was on its way. 50 minutes after ordering our food it arrived but as it took 50 minutes for 2 sandwiches, a portion of chips & a portion of cheesy garlic bread to arrive, we refused the order. We did expect a member of management to apologise to us for the bad service that we received but no one came. When I paid the bill for our beer they even had the cheek to charge us a 10% service charge which I then had taken off our bill. The only plus was that the beer was very good but very expensive at £6.25 per pint. My local charges £4.00 a pint. I don't know who messed up the order but an apology might have been nice. It wasn't the best experience of our holiday.

This is a hotel that at the very least tolerates dogs. We booked and advised we had two large dogs. We were shown to a small table and advised our dogs had to sit by the fire to avoid upsetting guests AVOID this I'll mannered and non friendly place!!!

It was my partner’s birthday and I booked a stay so that we could celebrate. The room was pleasant but the TV did not work. We reported the problem several times ….. and then we waited and waited. After a couple of hours sitting in our room a member of staff eventually came but was unable to replace the TV or move us to another room. We registered our complaint when booking out of the hotel. We were advised that the General Manager would contact us. The General Manager failed to contact us so I emailed the hotel - yet again there was no response. I followed through by writing a letter to the General Manager. Guess what - still no response. Lovely hotel but if something goes wrong management will not respond to your complaint or make any effort to put things right.
