Could not be more welcoming after a long days travel. Just turn up and get booked in straight away by the welcoming receptionist. We were notified by e mail that our room was ready a hour before the advertised book in time, how good is that. The room was all ready, it was warm and tidy with great views over the hill ranges. Lovely big bathtub and a large bathroom. The service for dinner and breakfast was slick but not pushy or interrupting. Good quality food at affordable prices. The drinks were also reasonably priced for a hotel. Great night’s sleep in a very comfortable bed, with good quality sheets and pillows. Loads of great walks just outside the door and of course the wonderful Strathspey Steam Railway. Thanks to all the staff for making our stay so pleasant and relaxing. Will definitely go back again the next time we are travelling North.

The bedroom was fine and the dinner was good. But the service was bad and the staff totally ineffective, with bad mood… The restaurant is small and noisy. It’s a shame if we consider the cost of accommodation. A very bad experience ! We won‘t come back.

Staff excellent, restaurant food and service good. Room 214 in need of renovation:- bathroom needs attention as windows don’t open so no ventilation, shower was weak and controls mysterious, electric shaver socket loose. Window in bedroom needed renovating as paint peeling. Luckily the bed was comfortable.

The Hotel is in a beautiful location and overall we had a pleasant stay. The food at Dinner and Breakfast was delicious and the service was adequate enough.
We did have some problems with our room, e.g. the TV had no reception/channels, the shower pressure was just a trickle and the shower head drooped and wouldn't stay upright. Also the sink wouldn't drain properly. So, maintenance issues more than anything else.
Otherwise, the Hotel is a good recommendation and we would stay again if in the area. We raised our concerns regards our room with the Hotel management and they were apologetic and kindly offered us a discount against our food bill which was welcome.
All in all, recommended.

The staff were very patient and professional dealing with a group of 12 middle aged golfers checking in late on a Friday night! Rooms were spotless and very comfortable. Breakfast was quality and promptly dealt with both mornings. All staff pleasant and available. Great selection of quality food on their menu. Looking forward to going back next year!

It's kind of in the middle of nowhere, and we were on a bus tour so had our meals there. The room was comfortable (no lift) and had a huge bathroom (top floor overlooking the train station). We had drinks outside before dinner with a few from our group. Lovely setting. Sorry we messed seeing the train.

Very disappointed with this place. Booked a table a month in advance and when we arrived they had given the table to somebody else. This was a special birthday party meal and they just told us there was no other table other than a dark and empty back room or a bench outside beside the road. No, please wait and we'll find you something just please go away. 40 years I've been booking restaurants all over the world but this is the worst I've been treated ever. The staff were not interested and just tried to avoid or ignore us whilst we tried to work on an alternative. Needless to say we couldn't find anywhere else to have this special meal. So beware if you book a table here.
