MetroCentre Hotel

Booked this hotel through agoda. And reason why i use these booking platforms is because i can see the pictures of my desired room. Instead of calling them and booking directly to them. When we arrived, though they allowed us to check in at 12nn, they have given us an entirely different room from the one in the picture. I booked a twin room and they’ve given us 1 double bed room. I booked a room with a window and they’ve given us a very dark lit room. When i complained, they allowed us to do a show room of the twin room. But because we’re all tired of the very early morning flight and we’re all hungry (past lunchtime), we rather chose to settle with the 1st one they’ve given us as we’re too tired to transfer all of our things again. The hotel was very near malls, convenient stores and fastfood chains. I had no problems choosing what to eat for my picky eater 5yr old son. It was along the highway, so we can also ride tricycles right in front of our hotel. It was near the St. Joseph the worker Cathedral. We went on a Sunday and my husband’s birthday so we were able to hear mass that day. At first, When i booked them, i messaged the hotel if they can provide a little something for my husband’s birthday like a mini cupcake will do and i will just have to pay for it. But they did not reply to my request. When i got to the hotel i understood why. It’s just not that kind of hotel. For me, this is just a 1-2 stars hotel. It’s a very old hotel. They’re doing renovations though. I had no problems with my airport transfer, as when we landed their van is already there. But we had to pay 600 pesos for the transfer which is i think is way too much. We could have booked a taxi instead and pay lesser. They’re very accommodating too with our seaport transfer which is free. As we have decided to go to cebu after bohol. There’s not enough legroom for the 3 of us, though the bathroom was big. Speaking of the bathroom, their hot and cold shower doesn’t work properly. I would have suggested for them to change it in a normal water heater instead of having a centralized one. You will end up showering with a very cold water.. that will suddenly be a too hot water after a few seconds then it will turn cold again. I had a hard time bathing my son because of this. Their restaurant were under renovations so there’s no good ambiance while having your breakfast. Their free breakfast is just ok. It’s not good.. but it’s not that bad. The staff were nice except for the ones in the reception area. Overall i would rate this hotel a 2 stars only as it wasn’t really the one i’m expecting in the pictures. The pictures were misleading. I could have booked a much better hotel with the same rate.

GV Hotel - Tagbilaran City

Two single beds, much like the type of Super 8 Hotel in our country, there is a shopping mall nearby, you can eat and go shopping, the first floor is a supermarket! The front desk helped me introduce a driver guide, chartered for a long time to go to the Chocolate Hills Eye Monkey, etc. It feels very good, you need to introduce it to you.

We have been here several times. Nice hotel in Tagbilaran City. You leave the hard trafficed road outside and then it is just calm, relaxing. Good rooms with 2 beds in our room and a big bathroom. Balcony with oceanview. If you want to go online the internet is really good when it comes to philippine standard, 30 mbit both up and down. The restaurant has a wide choice of dishes for dinner, the pina colada coctail was super. In the breakfast the breakfast is more filipino alike, could have been much better. There is also one big minus with the restaurant, there are no chairs for babies/kids so if you have a small kid someone need to hold while eating. So to the management team, please invest in a couple of baby/kids chairs as soon as possible and if you have that next time I come and if you also upgrade the breakfast buffet I will put 4 instead of 3 In overall a good hotel

We only stayed at the lodge for one night but I would have loved to have stayed here for longer. The lodge and grounds are so quaint and quirky and the staff are so lovely and welcoming - Gloria even brought us flowers for our room when we arrived (she called herself a romantic)! PROS -Location: 10 min walk from the ferry port, supermarkets and tricycles nearby, felt safe and secure -Grounds: the accommodation is a large mansion with a shaded garden area and lots of seating areas to relax in apart from your room, and meet others -Good WIFI -Shared bathroom: Cleaned throughout the day, showers with good pressure and warm water, towels provided -Our twin room: clean, comfortable, enough space, AC, affordable price -Staff: Helpful and friendly staff, possible to organise tours via the lodge -Food: Yummy Breakfast with vegan options available all day for 100ish pesos. In the evenings there is a BBQ and karaoke available if requested (but the lodge is quiet from 11pm) CONS -None: definitely stay here!!
