Hotel Palace Bologna Centro

I booked this 3 star hotel without expecting too much but the experience was worse that I could ever imagine. I was given a room without air-conditioning during one of the hottest days of the summer. According to Italuan laws 3 star hotels need to have air-conditioning. But for many rooms they only have a noisy fan. Besides this was an old hotel with everything falling apart... the sink did not work properly, the handle of the wardrobe falling, leakage from the ceiling. It is beyond my understanding how authorities can let this structure operate as 3 stars. It should be one or two. At the reception it was a procession of people complaining about these issues. The hotel was built in the 70s and probably never thoroughly renovated.

The location of the hotel is about 30 min from Bologna centrale. Check is only after 02Pm. For the price, is ok.

Hotel was less than 20 minutes away from the bus station, but one poor thing is that it was BOILING hot (no strong fan) and I had so many bites from bed bugs? or mosquitoes

This historic hotel is at least 50 years old with lovely vintage charm. Rooms are spacious, bright and spotlessly clean. Boasting an unbeatable central location in Bologna’s old town, it is surrounded by countless restaurants, plus an amazing gelato shop right next door. The only downside is mild street noise at night until late hours. Still, the fantastic location makes it great value for money. Breakfast is average with limited choices. Bologna is a charming city full of history and local life, and I would happily stay here again on my next visit to this city！

Hotel is old. Small rooms. Poor amenities and very old furniture. But wonderful view from rooftop terrace.

The location of the hotel is brilliant, but I would really advise against staying here over summer. The lack of air con makes the heat in the room unbearable-fans are provided but do very little when it is 34+ degrees. The hotel sockets are also outdated and will not work with modern EU adapters, however reception did provide me with one that worked. The whole hotel could benefit from a massive revamp as it looks very tired and all the furniture, carpets and fixtures are very worn.
