New Crown Inn

We were extremely disappointed and we will never stay here again. We had an awful experience here. Paid extra on an already expensive room for breakfast, then the next day 8:30AM, expecting a nice breakfast we were informed by the cleaner that there is no chef, and therefore no breakfast. No contact about this beforehand. Furthermore, trying to get a refund even for the breakfast that we paid extra for and never got is proving extremely difficult. We feel completely scammed. The room itself was OK, it feels like the decor is trying hard to feel "premium" on a budget but the room lacks basic items like a bar of soap. It was definitely not worth the price for the room even without breakfast in our opinion.

While the property itself was lovely and the pub manager really good we were disappointed because there was no food available at the New Crown and we weren’t told until we telephoned during our drive to say we were going to be later than planned . ******* were supposed to have informed us about the food but hadn’t done so also Apparantly this has been the case since Mid October. After a 6 hour journey the last thing we wanted was to have to find food in the nearest town and again find breakfast. If we had known about the lack of food we wouldn’t have stayed here. Also there was a big dip in the mattress almost like a hole ( window side) and the mirror light didn’t work in the bathroom. It is also a bit weird because the manager does not live in so basically guests are just locked upstairs in the pub on their own ( with a way out) but it did seem very odd

10/10 - food exceptional, pints exceptional. Room is absolutely beautiful, no expense spared on decoration and furniture. Shower was brilliant and bed extremely comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and huge. Best scrambled eggs I've had at a hotel. 14 minutes from my office in Hackthorpe and plan to stay again.

Beautiful Building in easy access of the A66. Very friendly and helpful Staff. Room was very clean and comfortable with all the required facilities. Would definitely use again.

THE DECORE

We enjoyed our stay at the New Crown Inn. The rooms are clean and comfortable and we received a nice welcome when we arrived. The rooms are above the village pub and so are understandably a bit noisy while the pub is open but also sound proofing between rooms is not great - we could easily hear conversations from our neighbours.

Friendly Staff, clean room and excellent food.

The full inclusive arrangement is only possible if you book directly, not via an intermediate. However, booking online does not present the full option. The best way seems to be to book by phone and make your wishes explicit. The hotel facilities are new and very pleasant. A good hotel in a tranquil location.
