Quick check in, room extra large with walk in shower. One night with evening meal and breakfast for two just over £100. Near the Hospital, 12am check out. Very friendly staff, nice adjacent pub/ restaurant with good disabled access. Disabled Vehicle parking next to reception. Better provision than expensive Hotels we have used.

Stayed over for the first time on a Friday night. Hotel spotlessly clean, and crisp white bedding. Tea and coffee facilities provided. Bathroom very clean and nice white towels provided. Large wall mounted TV. Free parking in large car park. If staying for Aintree races - short taxi ride or about 20 minutes stroll. 10 - 15 minutes stroll from Old Roan train station. Close to and handy for start of M57 and M 56 Junction. Breakfast buffet optional at adjoining Beefeater was excellent for £9.99 and £1 cheaper per person than if we had not booked breakfast when we booked room on line. Recommended if wanting to stay in the Bootle/Area.

The room was freezing cold, it’s like there was a window open. Even though there is a thermostat, it took hours to warm up and when it did, it just dropped back down. The receptionist s******ed and was unprofessional when we checked in. The bed was rock hard.

My Husband, 8 year old son and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The room was beautifully clean, the staff on reception from late night check in to morning check out were extraordinarily friendly, helpful, professional and courteous. Les at the neighbouring Beafeater made the best scrambled eggs I have enjoyed in a hotel in years. We travel a lot and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this hotel and restaurant. Thank you so much to all the staff for making our stay an absolute pleasure.

Location wise it was ideal for me to visit Aintree hospital. It clearly has ideal links to the motorway network and I would imagine it springs to life when the football is on. The hotel advertises free parking. I didn't have a car but there appeared to be lots of parking available. The staff were warm and friendly upon arrival. They made a booking at the "Beefeater" restaurant for me and checked me in. I opened the door to the first room, took about five steps and did a 180 degree turn back to reception. It literally stank of cigarettes. The reception staff were very lovely and gave me a key for a second floor room that was very nice clean and perfectly acceptable. The restaurant food was ok. I personally thought the helpings on the meal deal dinner were on the small side. Small piece of steak, small helpings of fries, half a mushroom, half a tomato and a few greens. The dessert filled me up however. Both the main and dessert were nice and tasty. Breakfast was decent. The staff were friendly enough too. All in all a good stay was had.

This hotel needs more staff. Getting served at the bar on both evenings was a challenge, partly because the staff were more interested in talking to each other than to customers but also because there weren’t enough staff behind the bar in the first place. The cleaners need training. The back of the bathroom door, and behind door in our room weren’t as clean as they should be. We sat at a table on the higher level of the restaurant to eat our breakfast and the windowsill was filthy. Spilt drinks, dead flies, dust and very dusty Venetian blinds. Breakfast on Sunday morning was chaotic. There were 6 plates to choose from when we finally got to the front of the queue at the hot breakfast area, but every one of them had bits of food on it, then we found out why the queue was so slow moving. They were constantly running out of food items and some people decided to wait until more of those arrived. When we got there, they had run out of black pudding and eggs, then there were no cups, no pancakes. Having trays would be really useful as you have to make separate trips for various things as you can’t carry more than a plate and a cup at one time. Two ladies were frantically trying to keep up with the demand for food and crockery, and not managing it. This hotel needs more staff. On the bright side, the beds were very clean and very comfy.
