My friends and I visited for a birthday weekend and mentioned it was a birthday when booking. The hotel went the extra mile and put up a banner and balloons in the bedroom- total surprise and made the stay extra special. Staff were welcoming and friendly, even let us keep our bags there before and after our check in/out times. Lovely stay, thank you!

Had the nicest welcome ever from Andrew at Hinton Firs. Yes the hotel is going through some refurb but we knew this before we booked as we stay in Bournemouth a lot. If you are fussy then maybe wait a while but we were very happy with our stay and found it very calm and peaceful in our large room. Great location for short walk to seafront. Thanks again Andrew :)

We stayed here on easter weekend.. we wanted somewhere cheap and ideal for somewhere to lay our head.. We pulled up in carpark which was free this weekend, (bonus). We got served by 2 gentlemen, really friendly and helpful..the reception area was lovely and warm and modern, we got to our room and yes theres bits that need updating, but we had everything we needed and it was spotless and clean.. We slept well, as it was so quiet.. we was about a 20 min walk away from town but u could walk several different ways along the beach front.. If your expecting luxury, ur be disopointed. But if your expecting a shower and a bed and a friendly face, this is the place.. We will defo be back..

Had to write the review because of how outstanding Andrew was. Honestly, the nicest and most helpful hotelier I have ever interacted with. Helped me and in-laws out, and acted as if it was no trouble at all. Otherwise, great location very close to the beach.

Arrived for a hen party. We had three triple rooms and 2 doubles. First of all looked nothing like the photos on the website. We entered the room to find human faeces on the bathroom floor. Called down and the manager came and cleaned it. Wallpaper hanging off the wall which had been put up with cello tape over the hot bulb (fire hazard). No bar or food as was told the council wouldn’t let them re open (hardly surprised with how disgusting it was, even when you looked behind the curtain to see the “kitchen”) bleached carpets, the lift fully reminded me of the titanic scene. Cobwebs and water stains on the ceiling. We didn’t actually book this hotel by choice as the maid of honour booked it and then decided not to come, makes me wonder if she knew the state of the place and decided to save herself the torture) Such a shame as with money it could be lovely. Would rather of paid more money for a decent place and not having to leave the toilet light on due to cockroaches not liking the light. Honestly never been in such a horrendous place. People were allowed to park in disabled parking out the front also! Not ideal for disabled people. The “smoking area” had loose slabs walking out. So you was lucky enough not to fall on your face when wanting a cheeky fag. Electricity wires hanging out the ceilings. Honestly if your wanting the worst experience of your life and a near death experience then this is the place to stay. The hotel should be shut down for health and safety. Enjoy the images. Also we did make these complaints and wasn’t once offered anything. Will also include a picture of the room on the website compared to what we got. Enjoy!

We booked as a group of 7, 2 families in 2 rooms. We arrived at the hotel and discovered that they had 3 car parks, all of which were free to use! This was great and saved us a lot of money. The location is a 10min walk from the beach and town centre which was great. Literally up and down one road. The lobby area and hallways seemed to be newly renovated and welcoming with pretty decorations and lovely couches. Check in took a while for someone to come to the desk, but the older gentleman that came was sincerely apologetic and made us feel super welcome. We were provided with 1 key per room. Not the card keys, but a traditional key. We had a room on the second floor (room 67) and my brother in laws family were on the first (room 27). The tiny lift was an old fashioned one with a sliding gate and heavy doors, a little scary at first but then we grew to like the unique charm of it all. You can always easily use the stairs! Our room was quite worn and needs to be given a good update. Cracks in the walls and ceilings, peeling paint and a dodgy shower. Even so, the room was clean and the beds were comfy. Good amount of storage and toiletries were provided. Hair dryer was provided and iron and board were also provided on request. Someone also came to check the shower for us and it seemed to improve slightly but the pressure was low and it was quite frustrating to use. We were told that they hotel didn't have water for a couple days and so the tank was probably still filling up. The man that came up was helpful and friendly. We struggled with how warm this floor of the hotel was, particularly with the recent heat wave. There was a fan already in the cupboard and upon request we were provided with a second tower fan which greatly improved how cool it got. We slept much better after this. My brother in laws room on the first floor was much cooler and they didn't have issues with their shower. There is no fridge in the room which is inconvenient, but the hotel sell cold bottles of water if required. On some occasions they didn't even charge us. Towels were provided when requested and there were plenty when we arrived. There is a kettle and tea bags, sugar and milk provided on each room. The kettle was very dirty but fine once I gave it a clean. I'm sure they would have done it for me if I had asked. A TV was in the room but we didn't manage to get it to work. I'm sure if we asked they would have sorted it. Plug sockets were limited due to our fans taking up all the space and there were no bedside tables or bedside sockets. They did have bedside lamps. We didn't see any food being served and didn't ask about breakfast so can't comment on that. Most restaurants and cafes are all within 10-15min walk or a couple minutes drive. We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel considering how much it actually needed to be updated simply because of the customer service. The gentlemen were so helpful and quick to respond when we needed something. The

What a complete sh#t hole this hotel is. No running water... had to shower in a separate building. No apology Staff knew there was no running water before check in and didn’t mention it. I can honestly say this hotel is the worst I’ve ever seen. It’s not even 1 star. Car park is full of rats. The manager doesn’t care. The assistant doesn’t care. Avoid, avoid.avoid

Firstly, I would like to state that this review is only based upon my personal stay, cheapest double room in peak season (end of August 2021) in Bournemouth for the renowned annual air festival (largest UK air show) which was also accompanied by the 7's festival (The World's Largest Sport & Music Festival), recent unlocking of lockdown and club openings etc. In short, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. They were very accommodating and the gentlemen to looked after me was ever so catering. From arrival to checkout, it was swift and professional. He also took my phone call when i was out dining with a friend who left her phone on the roof of my car, he was quick to react and went searching. Also was very reasoning with a delayed checkout. The hotel amenities such as the swimming pool, sauna, restaurant or bar were not open which upon booking I was later emailed informing me, which is no surprise given the recent and still apparent pandemic and strain on the hospitality industry. The hotel is quite tired and could do with some pennies spent renovating however this was the ~cheapest room and you get what you pay for (other hotels were more than double)! My only gripe was the room given was not as per the initial photo on *******, the advertised what colorful, blue with large en-suite however upon looking to the next few pictures there was a photo of my room which was quite dull and picturesque absent. Again, got what I paid for and was not miss advertised. Tired but clean.
