The pillows in the Magnolia room reek of brylcream. They failed to tell me they were hosting prom. Loud cars, kids screaming and the music beat could be heard all night. It took me 20 mins to get into parking lot and then there was no parking spots.

We had an amazing night at ashford acres. We try to make it an annual trip this time of year and our expectations are always met by amazing staff. It was prom night when stayed, we kindly have to disagree with the negative review left by another guest who stayed on this same night. We stayed in the garden suite which was right next to the prom event, the event did not impact our stay negatively. Parking was not an issue at all as the facility secured reserved parking for guests. Dinner and cocktails in the dining room were delicious and breakfast was brought to our room and was equally as tasty. We also enjoyed a beautiful walk on the property.

This is not a review for staying here--the grounds and buildings are lovely-please enjoy. I ordered a cake for my wife's birthday and it was truly one of the worst cakes our family has ever had, boxed mix or homemade, ever. On a positive note, the buttercream frosting was beautifully applied and tasted decadent. However, the red velvet cake itself was dry, bland, overcooked, and still had those cardboard sticks still in it. The edges of the cake where it met the frosting were dark brown and hard, and the dryness of the whole cake was such that everyone only ate the frosting. Totally inexcusable for the reputation and price. Definitely enjoy a beautiful stay or wedding here--just bring your own cake!

Myself and 4 friends graduated high school together 52 years ago. We wanted a girls retreat so I invited them to Cynthiana! I knew Ashford Acres would be a lovely place to stay and I chose the Maple Suite. What I didn’t know was how wonderful the staff would treat us! They attended to every detail to make our stay perfect! I would highly recommend Ashford Acres to anyone who wants a relaxing retreat in a beautiful historic Bed and Breakfast!!

My husband booked us this romantic stay as a Christmas gift. It was wonderful! The house is beautiful and the town is so charming with little shops (very americana). Our room was nicely appointed and updated. We opted for dinner which was very delicious. Breakfast was great too. They do a lovely job; we plan to return during spring.

The Garden Suite cottage is very comfortable and well-appointed. Breakfast was very adequate and delicious. It would be a beautiful location for a wedding or other special event. We only stayed one evening, so didn’t explore the area at all.

We frequently stay at B&B’s, and truly enjoy them. But Ashford Acres was hands down the best experience we have ever had. The staff bend over backwards to make you feel wanted and welcome. The home is truly beautiful, and every detail was carefully thought out. The room was immaculate, and both dinner and breakfast were exceptionally good. We highly recommend Ashford Acres.

The property, building, and dining areas are exquisite and beautifully decorated for the holidays. the Christmas Tea event had a few things that disappointed though. Other teas I have attended allowed you to choose a type of tea made for you, while this one offered average brand tea bags I have at home. The servers, while very nice, were quite timid and inexperienced. Food was a mixed bag; mini hot browns and caprese skewers out of this world yum! The "hot cocoa dip" was marshmallow fluff and cocoa mix that seemed appropriate for a child's birthday party. Gingerbread cookies were delightfully light and soft with homemade frosting, while the cupcakes had equally impressive frosting, but the cake was not very fresh. Overall though, we are easy to please and the atmosphere won the day, so it was a fantastic time.

This was our second stay and hope to return often. It's beautiful inside and out. The rooms are wonderful as is all the staff. We book our dinners here, their steak is better than any steak house I have ever eaten at, the flavor is excellent and they melt in your mouth. Parking is on site and open. They have wonderful complimentary drinks(in a refrigerator) and snacks located at a coffee station outside the rooms. When we arrived we had fresh cupcakes in our room. Its a must if you stay in the area!
