Waves in Bed and Breakfast

I was made to feel so welcome, fantastic hosts it was like home from home, great accommodation I had a lovely sleep and the location is great. Breakfast was delicious! I will definitely be staying again

Was made to feel very welcome by Val and family to this old school but very clean B&B in a quite area of Boscombe. I had a single room, and had to use the communal bathroom which was also very clean. My room was serviced/cleaned daily and tea and coffee replenished. I did think breakfast was included in the price but it wasn't, had to pay £10, however it was one of the best if not the best full English I have ever had with top quality ingredients. I would return again without hesitation.

Myself and my mum stayed for one night as we attended an event at the 02 Academy. We had room 5 as we requested a Twin Room with en-suite. We cannot fault anything, it was cheap and very cheerful. Val was very welcoming, friendly and happy to help with any query’s we had regarding directions to the 02 and places to go, Val recommended Chaplins being one of them, we loved it….. you must see. I booked direct and had breakfast included, which was quick, hot and delicious. I would certainly recommend and would use Wave In again. Thank You Becky and Cath 👍🏼

Very basic room , bed was terrible , couldn’t sleep well , blanket is too small , I called 5 times and in the end I had to use *********** to get in contact with them otherwise I wouldn’t have had my questions answered. I could hear people slamming their doors at 0100 so people need to be told to be considerate

Twin room (rm 3) facilities require monitoring and upgrade. Bedside lamp didn't work. Light over sink didn't work. Grit/sand on bedside table. Mattresses need replacing - uncomfortable night sleep due to springs digging in our backs. 1 double plug point inadequate for today's devices + tv, kettle. Note that the water pressure at this establishment is very low which is not ideal when trying to wash seawater and sand out of your hair. Bathrooms need upgrading. Grossly over priced for what it is at almost £100 a night with shared bathroom and breakfast charged as extra with the issues as above. Worth £65 at best. Wouldn't stay again.

We enjoyed our stay here, run by a very friendly family. Good location not far from the beech. Nice breakfast every morning included in the price as we booked on the website. Plenty of pubs and bars in town. Boscombe beech is quieter than Bournemouth which suited us.

My mum and her son stayed in Room 1, 3 nights B&B £267 plus £10 pp breakfast which we thought was included as is shown as a B&B! The room was too small for two plus 1 & required major refurbishment, electrics worryingly exposed wires and extension sockets, curtains mouldy, ceiling split and required furnishing with soft seating, table & chair, wardrobes and adequate lighting. The separate bathroom down the corridor required complete renovation, no grab rail and mirror light broken and the water was very hot and no extract system. Very expensive stay as standard of internal accommodation and external building in need of urgent upgrade, breakfast quantity small and hairdryer promised was never provided, very disappointing.

Happy with my recent stay at Waves In. Very friendly host, the room was small but very clean and comfortable, the shared bathroom was also very clean and pleasant. Nicely situated near lovely gardens and a short walk to the beach. A good value option and I would stay again.

I am a single mum and have saved a long time to take my 2 children away during the school holidays. On a positive, the location is near some beautiful gardens with crazy golf and a park which lead to Boscombe Beach which is about a 10 minute walk away. There is also a lovely Italian Restaurant 5 minutes walk away called Via Roma. That is where my positivity ends! Boscombe itself is quite a rough area with intimidating people hanging around the streets, so I would not have felt comfortable walking through there if it has been dark. We were checked into Room 2. Upon arrival (31/08/21 - 02/09/21) we were told that Breakfast was not included and we'd have to pay an additional £26 per night. We booked through *********** so watch out for that. We actually paid a lot of money for our 2 nights - £286 in total - so I didn't for one minute think that breakfast wasn't included! We were told that we had the use of a communal fridge and microwave outside our room. The shower unit was tiny and had I been any bigger I would have struggled to get in it. The grout and silicone inside and outside the shower were covered in thick black mould. This would have been a long term issue so I'm astonished that there are so many good reviews for this B&B (or just B!) It was a real state. There were also tiles literally hanging off the walls in the shower unit. The sliding door to the shower unit isn't correctly fitted meaning the door doesn't close properly. There is a 3 inch gap, it's shoddy to say the least! The room smelt damp and mouldy after we had showered, so much so that I had trouble sleeping due to the stench on the second night. It was unbearable. There were damp patches all over the walls and a patch of paint had come off the wall. There was black mould on window frame and mould in the corners of the shower unit and around the sink. My double bed had a thin memory foam mattress so I could feel the base of the bed. I also had 2 stains on my sheets - not very pleasant. The children had single sofa beds with a 3 inch memory foam topper mattress. They complained of being uncomfortable with a hard slat underneath their mattress near their pillows. We were on the ground floor and after the first night we came in from the beach to a horrendous smell of damp. The staff had opened our window - which made me think they knew about how bad the smell was. There was a lack of respect for our property being left with a window wide open. The smell was so bad that I borrowed one of the tea light candles with scented oil which had been burning by the fridge outside our room to attempt to mask the smell. There was only one double plug socket in the room with an extension lead precariously wrapped around the TV stand, which was used also for the kettle. This was dangerous and in this day not acceptable. The skirting board next the plug socket seemed to have a lump of concrete on top of it which was painted. The carpets were frayed at the edges.
